Colorado State Patrol say a motorcycle (http://www.9news.com/news/article.aspx?storyid=156396&provider=top&catid=188#) rider was killed in an accident that happened about 3:00 p.m. Sunday on Officers say the motorcycle rider was going southbound on Highway 285, crossed into the northbound lanes and was hit by an oncoming pickup truck that was pulling a trailer. The motorcycle rider died at the scene. No one in the pickup truck was injured.
Officers say a separate accident happened earlier in the day on Kenosha Pass. A motorcyclist pulled in front of a pickup truck. The driver and passenger on the motorcycle had to be air lifted from the scene.

They say this is always a busy time of year, but with nice weather (http://www.9news.com/news/article.aspx?storyid=156396&provider=top&catid=188#), more people are driving to see the leaves change and drivers need to use caution to keep the roads safe.

RIP riders.

IMO 285 is one of the more dangerous roads, big potential for head-ons from high closing speeds and not enough places for slow traffic to pull aside for faster traffic.
