Pathfinder ("3.75e") is the cure for 4e.

It tied WotC for sales last quarter and was developed by Paizo, which is mostly former 3/3.5 WotC devs & writers.

And, fwiw, 4e did a *few* things right, but as it was intended for a new and younger market it alienated too many old players.

But, for those unwilling to try 4e, Pathfinder really is the best OGL 3.5e-based system.
