Hi all. Just moved to COS in July. After we settled in I bought the wife a Kawi ER6N as a suprise for our aniversary and then she turned around and let me get whatever bike I wanted. Yea I know how lucky I am. This is her first bike and she is doing great! She did a few mods already even  (removed headlight fairing, rim stripes, painted side fairings, front fender, and guage cluster black, bar end mirrors, tail chop). Since the pics I've added black exhaust wrap, and tail chop on the Ape and will be ordering CRG Arrow bar end mirrors soon. Here is just a quick shoot I did in the driveway... Enjoy.

Damn nice photography. there are some threads around her for folks like you....

As a fellow guy with a wife that rides, it's a pleasant thing. Very nice rigs, you'll enjoy spring/summer out here.

I think it goes without saying that pics of the wife are in order.

On a side note, how's the Shiver? I keep eyeballing those as a second, or maybe a Dorsoduro 1200.

Thanks for all the comments guys/girls. We have only taken the bikes out a couple times since my wife JUST learned to ride , and weather but we would like to make a bike nite at some point to meet some new people.

The Shiver is GREAT! I had never riden a twin or an italian before as I have been riding for years and have had multiple R1's, but I can honestly say I love it. Relaxed riding position , it just askes you to misbehave on it, and definetly gets attention. It has plenty of power and the throttle by wire allows you to select three diferent power curves. I would highly recomend it!

Man, that Aprilia is so ugly, I think you should give it to me. It'd look better in my driveway.

Welcome!

This thread was a let down

I was hoping to see some :boobies: And don't doubt it, we have had a few new female members do this.....what was that ones name.....bisexual Brittney. Recently on my car club some hot 20 year old girl decided to put up her "pics". She became the most popular newbie overnight!

P.S. This was before Ralph got all married and put the nudity ban because he got his own set of boobs to look at everday. lol

Both bikes are sweeeet! Love the Aprilia especially. I was so close to buying the exact same bike but in the end decided on the Speed Triple. Tough decision though. Enjoy!

Send the "wife" over to the girls only side of the board and we'll welcome her there too.
Noobs are always welcome to ride with me as I am a slow poke!

Thanks, i've been riding for years but have calmed down a bit and don't drag knee or hang the front wheel on the street anymore (ok... maybe a little) haha. The wife just started as she had never even been on a bike before I bought her this one.

well the wife shattered her wrist in a mountain bike crash and had to have emergency reconstructive surgery so she won't be riding untill summertime I think. Not that we were going to do any snow riding anyway. Since we just moved here I do have a question. How long does it take for the gravely stuff they put down for ice traction to wash off the roads after winter?

in some places, there is gravel year round...in others, late season snow will most likely fall, thus lengthening the duration of shit-covered roads. I have gotten snowed on on the bike in late June, but by July I would say, most of the common routes should be clear

Sorry to hear about your wife's MTB crash. The roads clear up faster than you think, when the snow stays away.

ok thanks. I was looking forward to a ride but i'm new here and the thought of riding on all that gravely/shit scares me a little.

^^ Personally, I wait until March/April to start venturing into the hills. If we have a dry spring, then it'll be sooner rather then later. May/June - head further up and start doing passes. That being said, it can all change in a second. One good cold front and the high mountain passes can blow over with snow with little or no warning.

There are certain roads in the lower front range that are "rideable" year round. Just not at summer pace and you have to modify your lines to avoid the crap. Deckers and St Vrain (7) were still rideable last month.

Yes, that is one of my favorite rides... fun and close to Denver... As a side note... be careful when you get near the bottom (Deckers), there is usually some sand in the corners until at least mid summer...
