So now it appears I have at least one warped rotor, maybe both. Once they are warped they are pretty much done, right?

Yeah, I'm not too happy about this...

I've never heard of anybody straightening a warped rotor. It's a great excuse to upgrade your brakes at cheaper than stock prices, too!

just hope your rotors cost less than mine do. with tax from my friendly local dealer they are over $400 for the pair. :ouch:

Yep they are toast.

DON"T buy EBC rotors they will warp faster then the stock ones.

I would recommend the Axis rotors from Brake Tech and I would recommend checking with TK about price.

Problem with EBay is you don't know if they are straight until you get them...

hmmm, warping is caused by heat. Not sure you can fix a warped rotor. on a car or truck you can have them turned to a certain extant. on a bike I think you may be SOL. But yo ucan get good after market ones for cheap. You don't need carbon unless you are pushing too far.

I am potentially dealing with warped ones too. I checked around, and looking to be about $400 MINIMUM for a set for my bike too (GSXR). Anyone know what is the best out there (that is NOT $1600)? If I have to spend that much money, they better not warp on me.

Check this site because manufacturer sells directly and you may even be able to get the rotors themselves rather than the entire brake disk setup. They ship abroad too.

Over 500 bucks as opposed to under 400 from TFOG for the same rotors...

So someone said above to not go with EBC... any reason as to why? Thats what TFog recommended when I called them up...
