Here's the full story (http://arstechnica.com/security/news/2010/12/informants-suspects-outed-in-accidental-database-leak.ars). Essentially, if you're one of 200k suspects, victims, and informants in Mesa County your data has been posted online. This can't be good....

I believe the person responsible doesn't even work there anymore..... so... done.

Now that's a huge ef-up. Did you read that part where the sherrifs dept "thought" it was a secure server, but didn't even know for sure. Ummmmm, yeah, ok??

Entirely believable. LE agencies charged with handling confidential data rarely actually understand how to achieve that.
