FOR DISCUSSION PURPOSE ONLY (yes, you scared people on the board)

Do those photo radar sprays actually work? You know the ones that claim you spray it on your license plate and the high gloss will make it not be able to photo your license plate number?

There are many out there that make great claim that they works and even Fox31 Tom Martino claims his test worked, but I have never heard anyone actually use them and confirm. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_e2BC_kXis

This is the one Tom Martino tested http://phantomplate.com/

I think Mythbusters "busted" it. I can't totally remember, but I think they tried some and none of them worked. Maybe there is some Mythbuster archive you can check.

Even if it did, you better not get tagged on a route you frequently take or they will just bust you the old fashioned way.

I bet the company paid him to say it worked.

Also the even if it did work, all they have to do is reverse the black and white, and they'll be able to make it out.

You have better chances making a flip-up plate.

Plate blockers

Myth: You can put something over your license plate that only obscures it to speed cameras
Adam took photos of it with his Canon SLR

Glitter license plate: contains 'microcrystals' to deflect the speed camera's flash.busted
Lenticular plastic cover: distorts the plate when viewed at from an angle. The plate remained legible, though partially distorted, for both Adam's camera and the speed camera busted
Plastic wrap: very legible busted
Commercial spray: very legible busted
Hair spray: very legible busted
all busted

Sucks man No, this one was at 1800 Blck S Santa Fe Drive - 45 in a 59. I admit guilt, but still think it is dumb Santa Fe Blvd is 45 and considered a residential street.

Tell them some Mexican stole your car. I do look very Mexican in that pic. Even seems like I have a mustache and all; which I don't
P.S. I am Spanish B*tches! hahaha

Yes Martino gets paid by the companies. To get the trouble shooters endorsement they pay a yearly fee to be on the troubleshooters refferal list.

But if you got a ticket, you'd not have to pay for it. Making it even MORE worth it!
