They aren't changing it. It's the result of the wobble of the Earth's rotation axis (namely, precession) with a ~26,000 year period. This causes the path of the Sun on the sky (the ecliptic) to move along the constellations, going from one to the next in ~26,000/12=2200 years. Since astrology developed about 2000 years ago, you can see that the Sun has moved along quite a bit since then. And if you observe the Sun, you'll find that it does now go through the constellation Ophiuchus.

Now, why this has all of a sudden become some item of interest, I don't know. It's long been happening.
