#1 - I couldn't agree more... completely worthless TV

#2 - MTV's target audience is WAY under 35. I flipped on one of their "reality" shows a while back and had to turn it off rather quickly. I couldn't deal with the stupidity being flung about. I loved the Real World, back when they actually made these people deal with life... jobs, money, relationships, etc... not just a 6 month drunken party.

I remember seeing that show that was like 10 years ago or so (unless till on!!). Yep, I liked the first season of Operation Repo although I thought it was fake, but then on Season 2 they changed the beginning to add the words that it is all reenactment. So i went online and sure enough Matt has/had a site that talked about his acting...then once looking into the other characters they all have acting backgrounds I stopped watching.

Even those Judge shows are fake, but many people believe they are real Judges and that it is real rulings. I guess they miss the part where they are arbitrators and the arbitration is only registered in CA and has no legal abilities outside of CA and besides no one is out of money as the money comes from the show. http://judgejudyisascam.com/

^^^ Well it probably is partly to blame on the bank that loans someone money for an auto or home that they would consider high risk and did not even have a down payment. I remember growing up the rule of thumb was 20% down to be able to get the loan...I think they need to bring that back. Seriously you buying a $20K auto and you can not put down $4K there is something wrong with that picture. So yeah in a way the banks should be looking in the mirror at themselves.

People also need to look in the mirror and realize they can not afford the $30K while making $60K a year...who are they trying to impress by leasing or financing the vehicle?

We all have fallen for it...but maybe I listen to too much Dave Ramsey but debt free and paying cash and having $5 million the bank for retirement is the way to go. I do not follow all that he says...as to me buying a new auto is okay as long as you keep it for 10+ years.

Awww, the Jersey Shore issue is dead anyways. Seems like I was the only one here that enjoys the shows and takes it for some mindless entertainment. As for the repo issue, I see what you are saying that banks are partly to blame, but people need to grow up and realize just because something is given to you does not mean you should take it. I have a credit card with over $25,000 on credit, but you think I would ever think of spending that money....no, because it is all "fake" money to me and not real money and if I used it I would end up spending way more in interest. Now it would be crazy to use that all then tell the bank it is their fault for giving it to me....IMO of course, but this why I don't buy things I cannot afford.

As for this friend he is the type that if he has the money he spends it and when an "emergency" comes around he does not have the money because he spent it on something dumb like the newest Mp3 player or to get a PS3 that is a bit smaller thant the one he already has. I just find it funny that he thinks he beat the system by using a nice car and not paying much on it and thinking the bank is going to forget the difference of what they auction it for and what is still owed; he bought the truck brand new and we know how fast vehicles depreciate.

Then you got the fools that think just because they have the car means it is theirs, yet they never fully paid for it. Then they get all angry when someone comes to take it back.
