Okay guys. I have had a broken 32 inch in my bedroom for over a year now. I already have a great TV downstairs so I am looking for a new one to replace the 32 inch.

Here are my qualifications.

$400-$500
37-40 inch
1080p
60hz
Must buy online (no sales tax)
Free shipping

I don't need stunning quality since it will be dark in the bedroom most of the time while watching. I do need it to last because my woman falls asleep with it on constantly.

I am looking at Amazon, NewEgg and TigerDirect but I was wondering if anybody had any recommendations for other online retailers or any good experiences with certain TV's.

Thanks.

We just got a Sony Bravia 40" and really like it. We actually bought a Panasonic plasma, brought it home and compared the two. Sony LCD hands down. I'm a super tech nerd, but it seems like a really nice TV. My .02

For dark situations, I always prefer a plasma. Their contrast ratio is far superior to any LCD. I have an LCD in my room, and at night it's annoying because you'll be watching some dark movie, then a commercial will come on with a BRIGHT WHITE background. The LCD is far brighter than a plasma. Down sides are heat creation and energy consumption.

Find a TV with sleep mode

It's local, but check out techforless.com. They are in the springs and often have some pretty sick deals. I bought a 58" Samsung plasma from them a little over a year ago, open box. Awesome TV. Saved like $400.

Looking at this one currently. Seems like the best deal under $500.

I went ahead and ordered that one. Amazon was offering 24 month no interest financing too so I said fuckit. I will just pay it off in 4 months and call it a day. Great deal!

yea as long as you get it paid off before the deadline your good, i made the mistake of buying something from bestbuy and got the 6 months no interest and it was on my best buy cc and was like a month off from paying it off and they hit me with all kinds of charges for being out of the 6 month window..

BTW Amazon is CRAZY fast.

I ordered that TV at 11:00 AM, it shipped at 1:00 PM and will be here Saturday morning.

If the product is great, this will be a 5 star transaction.
