which is fancey talk for station wagon

"This is it. This is Ferrari's first four-wheel-drive model, called — the FF (Ferrari Four). The new Prancing Stallion with the super-sized rear end will replace Ferrari's 612 Scaglietti flagship. See, told ya it'd be a shooting brake.

Powering all four wheels is a naturally-aspirated 6.3-liter V12 direct injection engine, with 651bhp (at 8000 rpm) and 504 lb-ft of torque. That's enough to motivate the 3,946 lb. FF from 0-to-62 MPH in 3.7 seconds, with a top speed of 208 MPH."

3900 pounds!?!?! The new Porsche Panamera weighs over 4100 pounds! Even the all new Corvette ZR1 weighs over 3300 lbs.

Aren't cars supposed to be getting lighter with all the new materials?

I have an all original 1965 GTO that weighs less than 3500 pounds. A 1970 Camaro weighed 3313 lbs. A 1992 Camaro weighed 3105 lbs. WTF is happening? Chevy can't make a ZR1 that weighs less than a 92 Camaro?

I don't get it...

They ARE lighter...they're just filled with more technology so you don't have to think as much when driving them...and that's what porks up the weight

US, but they were talking about the Vette ZR1 and such, and any vehicle sold in the US has to have those, so it applies to the FF.

to paraphrase Clarkson: It looks like a dog squatting down to take a dump.
