Which class would I be in if I've never raced and ride a drz?

I remember hearing a rumor about a drz series a yea ago...?

Supermoto5280 is no more. That series has been replaced by the Colorado Supermoto Shootout.

Paulie, I met you a couple times when you had your bike worked on at OTD. It never hurts to race beginner once or twice if you've never raced. The grids are small, pace is as slow as you need, and is a nice way to get accustomed to the whole scene. However, the beginner class is only meant to be a familiarization class. The "DR-Z" class would be sportsman. Some guys ride real dirt bikes but must keep stock size wheels and brakes so it stays very competitive. There is also an asphalt B class this year which I'm hoping will be suitable. Come on out, give me a shout if you need someone to pit next to or just make you feel more welcome the first weekend.

Yeah, I was thinking about getting more work done to the drz but still thinking on it. I had a shoulder work done this winter so hopefully I'm fit for riding aggressively this summer.

Thank you.

how many track days / races can you get out of a set of sumo tires? I'm interested in getting into sumo after this summer, but it seems like the tire cost could be outrageous.

Tires will last a long time depending on how you ride backing it in will wear them out faster but still not as hard as road racing my girlfriend went a complete season on 2 sets. A set of soft slicks will last me 2 hard track days and a couple of race days.

I'm pretty slow and can run the soft Michelin sumo race slicks for about half a season.

This is after a pro races 3-4 classes a weekend on them for 2 weekends.
Take-offs FTW.
