Ski free Monarch April 4

On February 27, several skiers/riders drove 3+ hours to Monarch Ski Area only to discover that the power had just gone out, rendering the lifts inoperable. :no:

Looks like free skiing on Monday, April 4 (http://www.outtherecolorado.com/blogs/free-lift-ticket-day-at-monarch-april-4.html) is Monarch's way of making up for it!! :yes:

Yeah, it's far for the Denverites, but it's a reasonable drive from CoSpgs. The FREE day might be a good time to check it out.

Just fyi, there's no 'ski village' and I think the closest town is Salida, but Monarch's got some good terrain and views. I loved it the years I didn't have a 5-mtn pass.
