That is the question right now. I've had good luck with Pirelli's Strada line and the Angels replace them, but I'm also reading good things about PR2s and they're a little less expensive.

Anyone have any time on the Angels? I know a few people have, or have had the PR2s.

Gracias.

I have the Pirelli Demons and I love them if that helps :)

I have used the PR2s on my VFR and am very satisfied. I get in the area of 10K which is admittedly mostly commuting, however they do have enough grip to still be holding with only about a 1/4" of strip left. The PR2 has been replaced with the PR3, I do have one on the rear but have not had a chance to really push it yet.

I got about 17,000 miles on the Stradas so I'm leaning towards the Angels but wanted to consider the PR2s. I'll have to ask Sir Bacon.

I'm on the PR2's and have no complaints. Very good tire so far. I'd like to experiment with something else after they are shot just to see if there is a little more cornering grip to be had. Could just be my bike though since it isn't a true sport bike.

The PR2's HAVE NOT been replaced by the PR3's. They are the same tire except for the wet weather siphoning of the PR3. Unless you are running into changing weather conditions there is no need for anyone really in colorado to have a PR3 as the PR2 can handle the conditions here very well.

Think of it this way Jason, the Pirelli is more of a performance sport touring than the PR2. If you want performance go with he Angel, if you want longevity go with the PR2. Cost on both is really the same so think about what riding you'll be doing this summer and that will help with your decision.

Not exactly true. The "harder" center portion of the PR3 is 10% narrower than on the PR2 front, which means you get on to the softer portion of the tire at an earlier lean angle. Michelin says this provides a more confident feeling at mid lean angles and on transitions. They also claim a 15% longer average tread life for the PR3 as compared to the PR2 because of the siping, but as the tire is relatively new, I can't yet verify this. Pricewise, the PR3s will run about $40 more per set than the PR2s.

^^^True but talking to a Michelin Rep at Indy the harder compound really isn't much harder than the PR2 compound.

I'm getting the Angels put on. I can provide feedback in a month or so on how they work. However, I have a larger bike than you, so might not be the same.

On Hayabusas, we're seeing an average of about 8500 miles, with the rears wearing quite a bit faster, you could probably get almost 2 rears to a front.

I got about 13K with the last set on my VFR, mostly commuting/touring.

i plan to get 8500 miles on my bike this summer and my old tires are getting close to the tread bar in the middle.. that sounds pretty good to me.

Had a set of Angel ST's installed on my Duc ST by Jim about this time last year. Fantastic tire and I would highly recommend them ... fantastic grip, turn in, and feedback in the twisties.
