The Switzerland Trail

We rode up to Boulder, took Four Mile Canyon to Gold Hill, West to the Switzerland Trail, and headed south.

On the trail - Conditions were great on the roads that get sunshine. In the shady spots there was still quite a bit of ice and snow.

All of the major roads we took up and back were pretty clean for the most part. HWY93, Boulder Canyon, Four Mile Canyon, Peak to Peak HWY, I-70.

I am just not that enthused about snow-ice riding but it looks like spring is here and time to get the 300 out of hibernation.

Looks like the big puddles in the usual places. Another 3-4 weeks and it'll be in prime shape.

Can't wait till it's a little less snowy. It's a great after work ride!

Leah and I hit up Switzerland trail yesterday in my truck, and it was great. There were definitely a few snowy areas, but not much. It should be a great ride within a couple weeks.

It should be a great ride within a couple weeks.I was almost going to head up there yesterday but didn't because I thought there might be to much snow left over from last week. Is the entire trail passable on a bike? Or not yet?

Hell yeah man, there were a few guys up there riding yesterday too. We did the whole thing from sugarloaf to lefthand, and really the worst part was the sharp north face on sugarloaf at the beginning. Switzerland itself was just a bit wet in spots. I strapped the gopro to the front of the truck and recorded it all. Maybe I'll grab that part of it, speed it up, and post it. I would have ridden it, but yesterday it was windy as fuck up there, and started to rain/snow a tad as we were leaving so we were kinda glad we were in the truck.

On an unrelated note, the Wellington Lake Loop down off Deckers is perfect.

Cool. I don't mind limited patches of snow or ice, just not to long. Mud, dirt and puddles are fun! Maybe I'll hit it after work one day this week.

Yeah, I was up by Gross Res and it was pretty windyand pretty chilly.

1995 Tacoma 4x4. Just lifted it 3" and got the fatty 33x12.5 tires and new rims put on back in January.

Thanks man! I've put a massive amount of work into it over the past few years... new paint a couple years ago, new bumpers and lights all the way around, then the gear swap for 4.88's and then the lift and tires.

odo says 235k miles, but it was running slow for a long time before I did the lift. Probably more like 250k miles realistically. Never done anything to the internals of the engine.
