This makes me laugh so hard my balls ache!!! I'm pretty sure it pisses me off, too!! Superstitious people, god love 'em!

While researching kitchen ovens, I noticed some ovens come with "Certified Sabbath Mode". I knew it couldn't have anything to do with religion, but I was WRONG!!

Check out this horse shit!!

Be prepared to be amazed! (http://blog.case.edu/singham/2008/12/16/certified_sabbath_mode)

This is what is wrong with this world. Religion poisoning the minds of generations. I'm sure someone could have cured cancer by now if they weren't busy trying to circumvent some bullshit, such as "how can I cook some bland jewish food on a Sunday?"

Last paragraph sums it up

"To me, this is a compelling demonstration of the power of all organized religions to get people to worry about the most trivial things, to spend enormous time and effort to try to interpret and follow arbitrary rules written down by unknown people millennia ago and collected together in books like the Bible and Koran.
And it furthers a self-serving goal for all religious institutions. Once their priests have got people worrying about whether this or that minor action is going to make their god angry and imperil their souls, those people are less likely to ask themselves really dangerous questions such as: Why would I worship a god who cares so much about such petty issues? And even if I do believe in a god, why would I think that priests and other religious authorities know any better than I do about what god wants?"

My first thought was - If their god is so great, why are they trying so hard to circumvent the rules?!?

...and, does this "Sabbath Mode" really solve anything? You adjust the knob and still created a change in the system. Does it really matter that a computer randomly adjusts the temperature?!?

...what about moving around your home and creating static electricity? Do Jews stand motionless on this holiday, just to make sure they don't piss off god?!?

This belongs on Comedy Central!!

In some Orthodox Jewish buildings in NYC, elevators are set to go up and down all day and stop at every floor during Shabbat so that they can use the elevator without having to actually call it. There is a whole innerworking to the Jewish faith dedicated to circumventing the Torah rules. There was a very interesting article in the NYTimes a year or so ago about it. And there is also an eruv (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eruv)

Why don't they just have their non-believer friends come over on those days and do their dirty work for them.

Any hard core Jews out there - For a small fee, I will be more than happy to come over on these holidays and flush your toilet, get things out of the frig, open and close your oven door along with adjust the temperature, too. I'll even do your wife, if shes hot!

...doin' the wife is free....
