Email I got today.

The Forest Service finished up their work a couple days ahead of schedule and
has opened the gates as of Friday, April 29th. The trails and parking areas
should also be open.

Keep in mind that the forest thinning going on over the winter may have impacted
some of the trails and there could be more debris and hazzards than usual. As
always keep your eyes peeled and stay alert.

Enjoy the season!

I am racing next weekend but maybe a campout the following.

Is there any of it that's good on a big bike? I'd like to do some more technical stuff but don't want to get in over my head.

What did you end up getting again? Like a KTM 1400?

No they don't, hence why I asked.

I've never had a big bike on rampart, but the guys that I've seen bring em don't have too fun of a time.

You can ride Rampart Range Road with the rest of the monster dual sports. Dakan rd. And Jackson Creek rd are doable. There are parts of the beginner trail 627 that would be easily ridden. But there are some loose steep parts too.

My DRZ is almost as fat as your mom. An like your mom, I can ride it all over Rampart with no issues. A KLR may not like some of the stuff but a decent rider can handle it there.

Just remember:

DO NOT follow Buellers line. He does stupid shit sometimes (quote from the man himself) :)

Since the majority (all) the conversation on this is happening on FB and some people are too stubborn to get a FB account *cough* Dean, I am planning on being in the main North Lot @ 9:30 ish and Splashing in the puddles by 10:00.
Super-tards might or might not enjoy these conditions depending on mud levels.

After doing the stupid shit I just did in Moab, I'm thinking I can handle some trails at Rampart. So what I'm gathering is that you have to go buy a map to Rampart from a local shop, is that right? And they are color coded depending on difficulty?

We've got this beautiful site for bikes already set up and everyone is now on FB? Where you guys gonna go when everyone gets tired of FB? Twitter?

YouTube, Twitter and Face Book are going to merge. They'll call it, "You Twit Face".

Not color coded on map but they are rated, the trail head signs have colored symbols on them.

Start with Log Jumper off of Sugar Creek Rd. It is rated easy/green

No shit, my foot is sore as hell kicking that thing with tennis shoes. I thenk I bruised the arch of my kicking foot.

Well it looks like the interest has wained due to fair weather syndrome. So I am going to postpone until Monday as I don't like to ride alone.
