Did a casual run down 7 last week. It was so beautiful out, especially the shadow contrast, I decided to post my footage. Best watched before sleeping. :)

That was a nice video, and it would seem that you're, in the least, a decently skilled rider. One thing though, and I don't like being preachy, perhaps you might take it a bit easier when you come up on traffic. If granny is driving along at near the speed limit and someone goes by in a no passing zone at a significantly higher speed, she might just be startled to the extent that her reaction is a bad driving decision -- let's say she swerves to the right and goes off the road. As unlikely as that might be, I'd certainly find it likely that that drive could be more than unappreciative toward that rider, and this can help to develop an attitude towards motorcyclists in general.

Anyway, I'm not one to tell anyone else how to ride -- those are your choices.

Ride safe.

Love the vid! If I had one critique, I would have liked to hear the engine right at the end... as a bookend to the sound at the start. But excellent nonetheless!

But you do realize your entire post was telling him how to ride right? Saying it at the end doesn't change that you did it.

Awesome vid dude! Yea, leisurely for sure... ~ 52mph avg. We need to make more of these....

Just a few things. You're name, location and date are present, and although I figured out speed, I guess the cops could to... It's not that big a deal, but those passes.... Shouldn't omit some of this information?

Also, any footage come out from our run the other day?

Awesome vid dude! Yea, leisurely for sure... ~ 52mph avg.

 13 miles in 12 minutes works out to 65 miles per hour. And then the speedo is 10% off so if anyone were to compare to their rides down 7 this would be 'like going 70 mph'. And I'm not worried about the minor illegalities, I was clearly in control the whole time so if someone really wants to hunt me down go for it.

A bit beside the point, the video is to show the beauty of Colorado from the POV of a motorcycle: not my abilities, speed, etc.

I only like to post dirt riding or track, that way no one can whine about my riding and there is no record of my lawlessness.
Nice vid Vellos but I gotta say canyon rides that aren't well above speed limits do tend to be a bit mundane on video. As far as questionable passes, if someone thinks those are bad they need to stick with the "Conservative Sportbike Club".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LUiH4u2qv0YOU PASSED ON A DOUBLE YELLOW!!!! For the love of god, no one here would ever do that. You should join MHM right now!

Just one tip, look further ahead, especially through the corners. On the corner exit you seem to come close to the edge of the road. No bueno, especially now, it's sandy. Keep looking down the road "where you want to go" and it could avoid this.

Just my .02. By all means, I'm not an expert and there are much better riders on the board. But I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.

Also, on a couple of the tighter corners, it seemed like you entered a little shallow and that may be what's setting you up to run wide at the exit...

Pushing your turn-in a little deeper will set-up your apex and exit better

Disclaimer: I'm no expert either...
and I'm slow.

On Golden Gate, a lot of corners you don't want to take as a traditional corner ie: wide, then in tight at the apex, then drift out. Most of Golden Gate, I'm sticking to one or the other side of the lane because you never know what that canyon.

I try to stay in the car tire tracks in most of the canyons, the extra corner speed you can gain is negligible, especially during any decent paced street ride, and there is too much crap in the road, esp GG, and if you are "running wide" because of your entry, or corner speed, you need to get to the track

There's 1 or 2 corners at the bottom that get people everytime.

Rocks, sand, debris. If you're looking far enough ahead, you can always see traffic ahead of you.

Seriously the only comment i can really give from that kind of video footage is it looks like you're looking 30 feet infront of the bike. You're all over the road and usually on the wrong side of the lane for the next corner approaching.

Forget the inside outside race track stuff, stay towards the center of the lane in the corners and approaching the corners, and in the longer straight bits stay to the left side of the lane. Keep your head up and while also scanning infront of you, you need to be looking at the next corner ahead., and as far off into the distance as possible.

Working on it, hopefully I can find a way to get to the Track with some Peps and get some really good insight.
