2002 gixxer 6 my mph's r reading 0 while riding, guages stopped working 1 day then they came on after like 5 mins but the mph's never came back,.

Did you mess with any of the electricals, front wheel, or transmission?

Is your odometer going up?

Likley to bee your speed sensor is going bad or just a loose electrical connection. If you can google where your speed sensor is, once you locate it make sure you have a good connection.

Not sure if the 02 GSX-R was anything like my old 03 SV650. The speedo sensor is a little plastic ring attached to the hub, and sometimes if you've been messing with the front axle that sensor gets misaligned and the magnets shatter.

Do you happen to have a speedo-healer on the bike?
If so, recheck the connections or take it off and see if the healer went bad.

this should be the same as the bass boat...speed sensor on the outside of the countershaft sporcket
