So i just moved here, and got back from a nice ride this morning, parked my bike out front and went down for a little nap. About a half hour later the doorbell rings.

The elder mother of the woman across the street backed into my bike. The mirror is scratched, side fairing scratched, exhaust, blinker the usual from a tip over.:banghead: (but no apparent damage from where she backed into it)

I'm surprised i kept my cool, cuz damn am I pissed.:scream1:

Since its cosmetic i dont really want to call my insurance, so i need suggestions on a shop near Arvada that can give me a free qoute to get it repaired to hand to this lady and make her pay.

BTW Mt. Evans was my first experience with the roads out there and it was just amazing. I saw a few people too, not sure if it was any of you on here.

Thanks in advance.

Oh that sucks! I feel your pain...i had an old lady in Florida actually back into my Hayabusa in the parking garage and knocked it over as i was sitting next to it polishing the frame and wheels! Could not believe it! Lol, it sure makes ya want to lose it! Good luck on the repairs! I still havent fixed mine yet and it drives me nuts everytime i see it! So anyway, Im pretty new out here And havent used em myself yet! but I heard Finish Line supposidly does a nice job with paint.

You don't need to call your insurance; you need to get her automotive info and call her insurance company and file a claim. If she does not have insurance, then you may be screwed unless she offers cash to fix the bike.

do this immediately

I had a guy rear end my bike at a red light. The damage didn't look like much but turned out to be costly little parts, repaint the scratched fender and replace the stickers. I let the tiny dent on my pipe slide.
I got his insurance card and license info at the scene (and witness info) but we agreed he would just pay cash to avoid a claim that would increase his premiums etc. He initially returned my calls and I sent him the estimates (I got 3) and he promptly vanished. I then called his insurance company who called him, he admitted to their secretary that he was involved and they paid me. If I had trusted him I would have been SOL when he stopped communicating.

Yeah dude, you need to file a claim no matter what with her insurance. Then, she can make arrangements with her insurance if she is going to pay for the damages or let them pay for it. Just keep her in the loop during it all. It needs to be documented so that you don't get screwed. Protect yourself!

**Update**

Filed a claim with her insurance. They accepted and I'll be getting a repair estimate for them from TFOG. Once i give them the repair estimate, they will send out a guy to make sure its legit, and if so, write me a check for the full amount.

Awesome. Gonna use the dough to fix her back up? Post up some before-and-after pics, if so.

I think it's kinda cute how some people still don't call the cops and file a report EVERYTIME.If you don't want to get fucked and pay for this yourself, always call the police.Period.The story always changes later on when it's time to pay up for damages.

Yeah, call the Po-Po. Until she tells them she hit your bike, it's just a He Said She Said... At least she came to your door & didn't just bail.

There's no way I'm turning back (Oh oh oh oh oh)
Now the pain is my pleasure cause nothing could measure (Oh oh oh oh oh)

Love is great, love is fine (Oh oh oh oh oh)
Out the box, outta line (Oh oh oh oh oh)
The affliction of the feeling leaves me wanting more (Oh oh oh oh oh)

Cause I may be bad, but I'm perfectly good at it
Sex in the air, I don't care, I love the smell of it
Sticks and stones may break my bones
But chains and whips excite me

Cause I may be bad, but I'm perfectly good at it
Sex in the air, I don't care, I love the smell of it

Keep in mind that a Delkevic slipon can be bought for around $150 assuming your pipes from the engine to the muffler are OK. I helped another SV'r last night with a small mod and was pretty impressed with how his Delkevic sounded.

Edit - if you want to keep your bike stock, give me $150 for my stock can and I'll buy a Delkevic
