Wed May 11th, 2011, 09:50 AM
The next stop on the 2011 MRA season takes us to Pikes Peak International Raceway on May 21-22. Join us for Round 2 as the fastest riders and bikes in Colorado take on the famous PPIR banking!

Shane Turpin currently leads the points in the Race of the Rockies Championship Series. He will look to extend that lead even further as he attempts to win his 4th MRA #1 plate. But he has current champion Dan “Otis” Turner and young gun Dalton Dimick hot on his heels. 2010 Clubman Overall Points Champion Shannon Moham finished the first race weekend with a commanding 55 point lead over Tracy Schram for the 2011 championship. He will look to continue his points lead in Round 2.

Don’t miss the three new classes added to the MRA schedule starting this season: Formula 40 for riders over the age of 40, Thunderbike which includes Ducati 848’s, Triumph 675’s and a variety of other bikes, and the Production 250 class which includes Ninja 250’s and CBR250’s.

The Super Street class will once again run on Saturday. If you’re a street or trackday rider and would like to experience road racing for only $100 and minimal bike prep, go to http://forums.mra-racing.org/viewtopic.php?t=12495for more information.

Tickets for all MRA races are purchased at the event gate each Saturday and Sunday. Military Personnel, show your military I.D. and get in for free!

Weekend Admission: Adults $10 for the entire weekend of racing. Kids under 12 are free! Stop by your local motorcycle dealer for a 2 for 1 admission voucher.

Directions: Pikes Peak International Raceway is located on the West side of I-25, between Colorado Springs and Pueblo at Exit 122. The exit is International Raceway Drive
