I shaved my beard down to a 'stache a couple weeks ago and started a blog about it. I am 36 and have never had a mustache and decided to cross it off my bucket list. I am on the hunt for other mustaches and opinions on them. Lemme know what you gots or check out the blog at:

Rude comments, sarcasm, and open hostility are appreciated!

Or you can just check out the boobie avatar.

I lost a work bet 2 months ago or so. Boss made me grow out a stache for 3 weeks. no other facial hair allowed, and at the time my head was buzzed. I'm only twenty, so it grew, but it never looked right. I looked like a cross between A pedo and a redneck. some people can pull them off. some cant. I am one who cant

Yeah, dude. My wife and I were just talking about how hard it is to rock the 'stache + buzz. That's a tough one to pull off, especially at 20.

I've worn a monarch since I was 22. I occasionally shave some or all of it but always go back.

Huh? Sorry, did you post something? I was looking at the boobies....... :)

Me, I used to wear a "circle beard" (I always thought of it as a "goatee"), but now I'm sporting what I'm gonna call a "Trident" (since I don't see it listed). Basically, it's a Fu Manchu with a "chin strap" that runs all the way down past the bottom of the chin like the 'Fu does. Gotta be different, but, that's how I roll....... ;)

Not the best pic, and I've let it grow longer and thicker (size DOES matter! :)), and it IS pretty difficult to trim/shave but here goes:

Most excellent!

You're right, though. The trimming would do me in. I'd never be able to make both sides match up.

HAHA!! I rocked the Trident for a few years Frank. Now I'm just running a stache/goatee

Plus every beginning of Fall I start to grow out my Wolverine chops. I ran those for most of the winter then shaved it all off and grew back just the goatee.

That's what I had for most of last year. I had a wicked Paul Sr. stache..

Well, here's the thing, grow a good length full beard first, then slowly start trimming side to side to get the goatee (actually circle beard or doorknocker) right. Take your time and get it perfect. Then start on the middle of the trident (soul patch if you like), get that the width you want and centered, then work your way out to the 'Fu. Once you take the time and get it right the first time, if you're careful, you won't screw it up. I have something I can use to make sure I get the gap on both sides right. Be aware though, as in my case (though the difference is slight), your jaw is probably not symmetric, and you might have to fudge a little to make it work. I think you should try it, I really like it, as it's a lot more unique and rare than the plain goatee, if more work. You get used to doing it though and it gets a lot easier, especially if you get the initial trim just right. Doooo Eeet! :)

I shaved my normal beard a few months ago. Immediate reaction from the wife was "grow the bear back". The kids however kept comparing me to my dad who, as a fireman, has always rocked the stache. Went back to more facial hair, but damn was I sexy!

Kim had me grow a goatee a year or so ago. I sort of thought I looked better, but most my friends didn't like it. I shaved it and thought she was right, so I grew it back for almost a year. A couple months ago, I shaved it and haven't looked back. I hated that thing!!!

I am missing my beard. It looks shitty and thin, but it covers up my face. I had forgotten how much I dislike my face. If I could grow the ZZ Top I would be all over it.

BTW, CM: You look like a total badass in that pic. Fear and loathing.

As you can see, the ladies LOVE it!:headbang:

I hear ya, I've gone without but my big ugly mug looks too plain without it.
