The Colorado Supermoto Shootout is hosting rounds 3 & 4 this Sunday, 5/29 at High Plains Raceway in Byers, CO.:w00t:

We always love to have people come out and watch but this weekend we're running into a shortage of people to help out...namely, cornerworkers.

There's a thread (http://www.supermotojunkie.com/showthread.php?115540-Help-needed-for-High-Plains) on Supermoto Junkie but thought I would post here and see if anyone had their Memorial Day Sunday free and wanted to come hang out and flag some races.

edit: Thought I should put the contact info here. $50 gift card to Epic Motosports/Sisneros Speedworks in Longmont for flagging on Sunday.

Let Kevin know, I'm sure he'll appreciate it. You only running the afternoon session (RD 4)?

FWIW, they're offering a $50 gift certificate to Epic Motosports for flagging the whole day...:)

Is there a gate fee @ HPR

brennahm
Thu May 26th, 2011, 04:56 PM
$10. Allegedly for HPR's insurance. Even the racers pay it.

Tell you what, first person to commit to flagging a full day, I'll pay their gate fee if the promoter doesn't.

Yeah, my plan is to run beg and sportsman Rd 4. I haven't done any testing since getting the bike setup, and the forecast is for PM rain. So other than corner working Rd 3, dunno what I'm doing yet.

Beginner & Sportsman?

opps

brennahm
Thu May 26th, 2011, 09:10 PM
All I was saying is that technically you're not allowed to run beginner and something else even though they'll let you. If you've ever raced then beginner is just track time - which may be what you're looking for. Novice would be the class I would suggest besides beginner.

Well, this is my first race so I don't know all the rules. Just doing this for fun, so will go with the flow.

$10. Allegedly for HPR's insurance.

:? The gate fee amounts/policies are set by the clubs that rent HPR, and do not go towards HPR's insurance in any way.

It was so lonely in the front. I was crying watching you park it in corners. I didn't know DRZ's could take corners that slow. I thought Helen Keller was going to pass us on a segway while I was following you!

:? The gate fee amounts/policies are set by the clubs that rent HPR, and do not go towards HPR's insurance in any way.

this is correct.

our particular insurance company requires track maps and pictures of each facility. depending on the layout of the track and the set up of the "spectator area" the insurance company decides if its just the racer covered or the spectator covered.

for the HPR venue the insurance company dictates everyone entering the gate be covered by the insurance.

at GJMS,IMI and Laramie the insurance does not require that.

there is a gate charged at IMI by IMI,not CoSupermoto.

I meant sarcasm on the gate fee. I just like complaining about those.

By the way Brad, I'm glad you scuffed up your plastics at IMI, it'll give me more traction when I run over you in one of the four napping areas at HPR.

John ran the afternoon. Ran the second race of double header and had a 4th going when his bike stalled in my corner heading to the jump. It took him a lap to get it started. He was looking strong though.

Yea John make sure your tubes aren't all the way to the bottom of the catch can, if there is fuel in there and the tubes are submerged they wont vent and it will cause that problem. They should be just past the top of the can. The bowl overflow can be submerged but not the vents.

FZRguy
Tue May 31st, 2011, 09:53 PM
Yeah, rookie mistake. My gas vent was also down there....doh! I just ordered a UFO catch can for the carb hoses.

Sorry I didn't flag Rd 3. I'll work a round that I'm not racing.....prolly July 31.

And who was riding the E model in our race? I got a FMF slip-on for him.....cheap!
