With all the rip threads this weekend and talk of a good sweep having first aid training I think its time I take a class. I'm looking at the abate class because I want something geared more in the direction of helping a downed rider rather thantaking care of bee stings. All advice is welcome.

A Red Cross class (http://www.coloradoredcross.org/class_view.asp?nroClass=1273&SN=5408&OP=6330&IDCapitulo=Q4Q26NY21N) would be good in conjunction with the Abate class

Check out the ASMI class that T3RG offers. It's a lot more than just a first aid course . . .

May I suggest this one as well? I know the instructors personally and after playing the "victim" for him on several occasions, he knows what he's talking about. He's been in the field for more than 10 years working as an EMT, Paramedic, ambulance driver, etc.
Medical Boot Camp (http://medicalbootcampllc.com/classes.html)
The owner/operator's name is Brent Newton, and I know if I ever have an emergency, I'd feel 100% comfortable knowing he was on the case.
