we can bypass the dirt all together and just head on down to woodland park and come up from there but that makes it a 4hr trip

You're going to go all the way to CO Springs and slab it back... and that isn't really a great noob friendly route in my opinion. 285 with traffic, really tight road towards Pine, the rest to Deckers is good, lots of fresh tar snakes and loose gravel road after Deckers, then a whole bunch of straight roads, 24 will be with traffic, and Die-25 back toward Denver. :puke:

Suggest Bear Creek, Evergreen Parkway, CO 65, hop across I-70 and exit Central City Parkway, then Peak-to-Peak, and end with Coal Creek. :dunno:

4hr ride sounds fun, i have never rode on gravel and I really do ride at my pace
which is not snail slow but a decent speed, but safe!!!! i know the only way to get better is to ride ride ride

Just FYI, P2P was LEO and sand heavy last time I was there, not saying to skip it, just be aware.

St Vrain might also be sandy in spots, but overall the pavement is usually fantastic.

P2P is sand heavy? And S. St. Vrain is basically never sandy! I think you have high standards, because I was on both recently and they were fine.

I'm really not loving the idea of slabbing it all the way back, I think Vellos' idea was better or we can even just make more of a loop and stay up here instead of dropping down and taking I-25 back in traffic.

Squaw Pass was too shitty to ride, lots of sand washed over the road, not just patches here and there, but decent sized swathes.

Also lots of melt/runoff from snow still in the shade, my buddy and I turned back since you had to crawl.

So, I'd suggest something lower until that's cleaned up/washed off

Squaw Pass was pretty messy earlier, it's possible the rain tonight might clear it (or make it worse) but we may have to just ride up there and see what it looks like.

When my buddy & I were there we actually turned back since it was just too shitty to be any fun at all...

But, we can try it, and/or pick something lower...up to you guys since I'm 50/50 at best (as ever :p)

I'd say 10:30 meet 11a KSU might give people more time if they're coming from a ways out--but that's not critical.

Not much else to roll on, unless we go south after Coal Creek. Central City Parkway, Evergreen Parkway, Kerr Gulch, Bear Creek, Indian Hills, Turkey Creek, Deer Creek or Deckers?

I'll check in the a.m to see what you guys decide..... I am down for CC, P2P, SV into Lyons maybe back up, and then down Left Hand into B-town. I might be able to join in if my appt in Aurora is done with by 11:00am.

Fresh to death. I could show you hookers some roads down hurr on the west side.

Let me know if you want to come south. I have a nice 3.5hr ish route down here. I'll just meet you at the Starbucks off i70 + Evergreen Pky.

I've never been to Deckers, wouldn't mind doing that route.

I'm also not opposed to starting more south either.

It will probably take you guys an hour ish from CC if you go up it and down CCRaceway. So I'll probably get there around Noon and enjoy a coffee.

Maybe I should just meet you guys at I-70 and Evergreen Pky at noon, that way Wofe, Velos and whoever else can get an earlier start and I'll have a little more time to meet up?

Good ride guys, thanks for waiting. I didn't know how much more dirt we were in for, so I just headed back home. Hopefully you guys made it through that stuff alright.

Actually didn't go through the mud. Went to the dirt on the right and around the hill about 0.2 miles. Anywhy after that we went over Indian Peaks, Turkey Creek, Deer Creek, Pleasant Park, 285, Deckers from Pine Junction, Platte River Rd back, 285, full Turkey Creek, Indian Hills, and down Bear Creek.

It really was an amazing ride and an amazing day. Too bad my bike got really tired around Indian Hills. Got to find out whats wrong with it now, its was sputtering and such and had like 50% power

It was a fun, good-paced ride! Sorry I had to cut it short, but I hate dirt roads and I draw the line when they are covered with fresh TAR... Besides I had to get home and get ready for work. Goodtimes!
