EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- A Colorado Springs man is dead after a crash on Highway 115 in El Paso County.

Troopers said it happened Wednesday evening on Highway 115, near Mile Post 34.

A pickup truck was traveling southbound when the driver lost control.

The truck crossed into the northbound lane and sideswiped a motorcycle, causing it to roll on its side.

The truck then continued off the roadway, and crashed into a rock embankment.

Authorities identified the motorcycle driver as 53-year-old Cedric Boehr of Colorado Springs.

He was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The truck's driver, 74-year-old Dale Burkybile, also of Colorado Springs, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Officials say speed is not a factor in the crash, but alcohol may be.

As gently curving and wide as CO115 mostly is, this highway seems to have its share of motorists crossing into oncoming traffic.

RIP, Mr. Boehr. :(

RIP rider.

A lady in a white econo-car came into my lane on CO149 the other day. If I was 1-2 seconds further up the road, I'd be missing right now as I would have surely gone off the side without witnesses.

I hate HWY 115. I use to respond to accidents on there all the time when I was a Firefighter there at Fort Carson.

....or maybe the guy driving the truck was just old and incompetent as a driver. RIP rider, Godspeed to you and condolences to your loved ones.
