Last I registered an out-of-state bike in like 2003, it was required to get a certified VIN inspection from the state patrol in Broomfield. Is this annoying hoop still required or can I take it the bike to a dealer?

I got my vin inspected somewhere else, but yeah, they've gotta verify it. It's the "welcome to Colorado" tax.

A dealer can do it as well most Department of Motor Vehicle. I recommend the Department of Motor Vehicle, its a one stop place, get the vin inspected and get your plates in one stop, and no hassle from the local Leo.

I registered a DRZ about 2 months ago that I got in Oklahoma. VIN inspection was done at the DMV, but the title had to be notarized per Oklahoma law. Make sure you read what the out of state title says to do, I think Colorado goes by whatever the title says.

If you have the paperwork I can do it for FREE.

I live in SE Aurora/Centennial and work off I-25/I-70.

I have multiple bikes that need registering...

What paperwork do you need?

I have the CA title for a TZR 250 and the NY(?) title for an RG500.

I also have a never titled 17 digit VIN RG500 frame with rest of it in boxes... but I think that still would need CSP certified vin inspection to try to get titled? (builder title?)

ps... I'd pay you $50 to perform the service at my house in Nederland.
