Just keep an eye out on the weather, its 30%+ chance rain and thunderstorms for the afternoon but then again its Colorado so can't be sure lol

4pm?

Still semi new to the area, even newer to riding here. Does someone want to set a start point, thoughtful of those who might come from metro Denver?

Golden 7 11 could be the start point?

Ok, Golden 7 11 @ 4pm.
Got a map link?

399 Washington Ave, Golden (http://www.mapquest.com/maps?city=Golden&state=CO), CO (http://www.mapquest.com/maps?state=CO)80403-1427 (http://www.mapquest.com/maps?zipcode=80403-1427). I thin thats right. If you take 93 through golden it will be on your right. It is right before golden gate canyon.

Cool, see you guys then. I know of this one road called I70, that's about it. I'll let you guys pick the route.

golden gate canyon, then north onto 72 up to 7 to lyons shouldnt take too long.

Golden gate canyon to 72 north, 7 to lyons, and then back the same way, or back down 36 to boulder. That should work for vellos.

This Afternoon: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could be severe, with large hail, damaging winds, and heavy rain. Cloudy, with a high near 74. East northeast wind between 5 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Might not come, will see how it's looking in an hour.

So maybe I will have to cancel then. I could deal with a lil rain, but the hail I don't like.

Looking dark over the Flatirons here in Boulder. Think I'll stay in and watch a movie. :) It's not about being on a motorcycle - I hate thunderstorms regardless of what I'm doing, almost as much as I hate cotton balls.

I just got back from a leadville run so not really interested in going south. Would be happy to do coal creek up and around tho.

I actually got home in Arvada when I started posting. I came down GG after leadville cause 70 was a mess.

I remember a certain ZX10 turning around after 5 miles in Left Hand Canyon. :dunno:

That was different LOL. That was me not having any confidence in my bike or riding skills that day and felt safer going home and practicing more on the street then trying for a canyon again. That issue has since been solved.

I felt safer watching Boondock Saints than a 40% chance of large hail and damaging winds. ;)

Thanks so much for the offer, Vellos. I've got a busy work week, and my day off will be spend recovering from the Alan Jackson concert that we'll be going to on Thursday up in FoCo (my wife's a fan, me - not as much). Might be able to get out for a ride on Friday afternoon if all is well.
Thanks again, really appreciate it.

I was so close to going, sorry I babied out at the mention of rain/hail.
Last night, though... man we got pounded.

Just saw that for the first time a couple weeks ago. It's a badass movie. Now I have part 2 waiting to be watched.

1/2 inch hail just south of downtown, that shit hurt while walking... I can only imagine what it might be like going 70 on the bike.
