View Full Version : Installing Stainless Steel Brake Lines Advice?

I was going to have my old shop put them on, but they're pretty much booked solid so I won't have them on in time for the Chicane track day.

So, I'm debating putting them on myself. I did it for my last bike but I had help and speed-bleeders (and still made a mess with brake fluid everywhere).

Any advice on how to do it "properly" and how necessary are speed bleeders (since I'd have to go buy them)?

good video on on how to do it without using a mityvac or other brake bleeders - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09peSQc9ROI

I just recently changed the lines on my bike and it was not a difficult job at all. I just picked up one of those cheepo $8 bleeders from checkers and it worked fine. Or just use some clear air hose direct to the bleeder. If you search the threads you will find the same similar question I asked a while back and there was some good advice offered there.
Good luck

Get a syringe. Attach 3/8" line to it. Push fluid from caliper to reservoir. Done.
