This is a session in yesterdays intermediate group, I was a rolling roadblock on the straights :)

Seriously if anyone is wondering what kind of a track bike a 250 makes, here is a view of it from an old fat riders perspective. These are an absolute blast and a cheap alternative. The fun factor is just as high as far as I am concerned.

Remember I am one of the slow 250 riders ;)

I do a practice launch at the end, ninjette gets a little wheelie :)

You are DAMN quick (yet stable) in the corners my friend... Hope I didn't slow down too much in the corners and spoil your fun. Good riding with ya!

Slow is relative... ;) It was a blast following you into the turns, hard to stay with you though, and I kept looking at you instead of the track ahead... lol

Would I be racist if I called you a sexist?

Alright then I am relatively slow.

Yusuke you looked really good after you got the track down, hey when I get to pass people it still counts as a pass  even if they are parked.

I had an EX500 as a track bike long, long ago, and I've been thinking of getting a used 250, I think they'd be a blast--fast and fun are both relative, and you can have a lot of one without necessarily having an equal amount of the other.

Thanks Dave. In the second to the last session, I was trying to chase you down and kept getting close enough on the straights (obvious HP difference), but you would pull me away in the corners. You looked like Aaron Yates at Mid Ohio (not the Daytona version of Yates drop kicking someone) dragging elbows!

I think you had the camera looking backwards on the second to last session. I remember waving to the camera coming into the pits. ;) Did ya see me chasing you in that vid?

Thanks for posting Bueller! This video has helped me figure out what I was doing wrong on Sunday. Much appreciated!

Also, attached is the "old fat guy perspective" - if you hadn't said it, I wouldn't have posted it.... :devil1:

I had 2 2G cards and ea. did 2.5 sessions so I think I was out of memory at that point but I haven't watched it all yet. I only recorded 1/2 of the last session before lunch and at the end of the session Disalvo passed me ridding Turpin's Peribon, I was like that's cool, but then I got back to the pits and saw the card was full :(

Dang! That was the session. Jason came strolling by (more like blew past me) right before the tight left hander (Turn 8 I think?). Then I saw him pass you and we all went into the pits together. Oh well. next time. I need to buy a quality track day camera like you guys. I still use the old school handicam mounted on the tank. It's so huge it looks like a gun turret mounted on my bike...

I'm glad someone posted a vid of this. I really wanted to know what it's like to do some laps on those 250s. They look like a ton of fun and right now it's #1 on my list for track bike when I get the chance.

and god damn that back straight takes FOREVER

I remember that session. Good riding. you have got great corner speed. I thought you were Lars who also has a white 250 also in the I group. Great riding to the both of you on 250's.

Yea Lars is hauling pretty good out there, we rode together for a couple of laps but he is running a few seconds a lap faster than I am, I blame my extra weight

This is seriously the best bike I have ever ridden for learning corner speed, I swapped bikes with my friend for a session (Kawi 636) and although the power scared the crap outta me I did notice I could push it around the track with less effort than I remember riding my previous 600 and 1000cc racebikes.

An edited session at the trackday on the 4th. 98 degrees by noon.
Camera mount up front,
They split into sessions (2) so I am in slower (gimme a break it'sa 250 :))and I catch some of the newer riders and a couple of parking jobs haha. Then I timed a couple clean laps w/edit counter. GPS timer showed a fast time of 2:21.4 for the day. a 2.7s improvement on personal best (on 250).

Bueller....what GPS timer do you use? And how do you use it? What did it cost? I've never had one...so dumb it down for me if you can....I know what gps is, just not sure how the timers work. Did you use the beacon that someone brought that day?

Nice riding Dave!

You should bring a sandwich and some monopoly for that straightaway.

It is funny the way bikes walkaway from you, but it makes the catching back all the more fun. I was chasing a guy on a GSXR 600 in the last session and I would chase and chase and catch him through 2 or 3 and then he would fly by on the straight and it would start again

Mine is the getto android version, not as accurate as the good (expensive) ones.
I sit at my computer and pull up two gps coordinates from google earth and enter them into my phone, when my phone passes between the points it triggers it. No beacons!
It can be set manually @ the track too, walk out to the two points on each side of the track, I use Start/Finish, but anywhere you want really, you just need access.
