I don't have a lot of details, but the CSC lost V4Whore (Dave) on Deckers yesterday. RIP rider and you will be greatly missed.

Dave and Gary Rosen went for a ride at lunch yesterday. All we know at this time is Dave died almost immediately somewhere along the route to Deckers. Gary is pretty shaken and isn't ready to talk about it.

Gary has said that he would like to think about doing some sort of benefit for Dave's daughter, if anyone has ideas.

I only met Dave on a couple of occasions, and really only rode with him once on a great Deckers run. But I knew right away, that this was a guy I'd like to and be proud to be friends with. Also one of the few I'd trust to ride hard alongside of as he was a fast and seasoned rider.

I'm saddened to lose him as a new friend, especially as I'd hoped to know him better and ride with him more, and can only imagine the pain Gary is dealing with as he was there with him as one of his closest friends.

RIP Dave, Godspeed to you brother, and condolences to family and friends. You will be missed......

I rode with Dave many times and always enjoyed conversing with him at lunch stops. He was a truly good man, and will be greatly missed. I'm going to miss seeing our 2 VFRs sitting together, like at the start of almost every group ride I've been on. I always aspired to ride at his level. RIP Dave

fuck me.

I "met" Dave over at VFRworld. Introduced him to the CSC and rode with him twice. We traded PMs over at VFRW and chatted from time to time. I know he was in the process of exciting things and trying to get some work that would allow him to travel.

This one hits a little close for me

And please don't take this the wrong way, Vellos. But jeans are not "just fine".

After Dave's comment on the "Canyon Carving: What to wear" thread I got myself full leathers and won't do a spirited run without them. His passing is tragic and I give my condolences to his friends and family. RIP.

Dave, we never met that I know of...I wish we had as from the past 3 pages, you must have been a great dude.

As a side note...I don't want to die doing what I love, i'd rather just live my life and watch my kids grow into adults, and I'm sure he'd be thinking the same thing. RIP fellow rider...

Everyone this goes to show you that no matter how good a rider you are, bad things can happen...please slow down on the public roads and go fast at the track...for all of our sakes.

His last words to me, a week ago, on the birth of our first child. He was down south looking for work at the time.

Congrats from Baton Rouge, Dave! Glad to hear everything went well. Your life is about to get a whole lot crazier! Motorcycling isn't even in the same ballpark.

^^^it's something only a parent can know/feel. I'm not saying i'm not gonna take chances, or stop going fast, and not have fun, just a little more careful/calculated risks now. I have ppl in my life that...w/o me aren't going to/can't support themselves, plus i don't want to miss out on the really important things that are going to happen in their lives. I honestly wouldn't be able to type these things if i was still in my 20's, only time can provide this type of wisdom

After I lost my best friend and another one got severely injured I turned to the track and rode there almost exclusively for 5 years with only the occasional street ride with very good/close friends.

Things like this always affect people, even those who may not have known Dave, and some re-evaluation of how, when and where you ride is, I think, very appropriate...
