Today, Swift has fallen in love with a Blue and Gold Triumph Daytona 675. I might be the first person to get married to a motorcycle and that's perfectly fine by me.

Let me test her to see if she's faithful

you might cheat on her once you've seen the spec on the 675R

I'm posting the beemer on CL again this week. Need to pay off my folks and get a down payment put together so my interest rate doesn't kill my ass. My heart is completely set on it after riding today. Saturday I'm going to the demo at Foothills to give it another shot in full gear since I rode it without any gear today @ Erico (Yeah I know, last minute thing but whatever).

Those 675's always caught my eye...too bad they're made for someone with a 37" inseam. Every one of them I've ever sat on made me feel short and fat. The seats were tall but the bike was so damned narrow I felt like a bear on a tricycle

Drop dead gorgeous ride. If only they made them for the vertically challenged.

They are great bikes. I think they are good for short riders because they are narrow. Im only 5'6" and I have no issues.

Just to put this in perspective for the guys that don't know me, I'm 6'3". The only real thing I think I'm gonna need to do is get some different bars as they are a bit low for me and tank grips on the sides for my knees. Then again, could just be I'm going from almost an upright naked to a full on super sport and its an awkward feeling.

Swift,
I'd certainly recommend the tank grips, but maybe holding off on the bars for now. I'm not quite as tall as you, but also made the transition from the standard/upright position to the 675 and got used to it fairly quickly. The first week I had the bike I'd alternate between the two and incrementally increase the time on the 675 so my back/abdominal muscles could painlessly transition. I know it is unsolicited advice, but maybe something you could try before spending money or altering the bike very much.

Swift Im 6'3 also and bars were a must for me.. I have helibar's on mine and love them but I do feel a bit of vibration on them because they are solid core. Another brand you will here alot about is Cyclecats (they have been out of production for about 4 years) Which is just now starting to remake there products again and claim they should have the clip ons again in the next few months. Each has there advantages for more info see here http://www.triumph675.net/forum/archive/index.php/t-7236.htmlhttp://www.triumph675.net/forum/archive/index.php/t-7236.html

You won't be disappointed!!

Talk to Ben Kam. He is the older gentleman at foothills and a great guy. He is very passionate about bikes and not a pressure sales douche. I was at RPM getting my GSXR worked on, walked up to foothills, Ben threw me the keys to the Daytona, and I went home and sold my GSXR.

Life has been great since!

I've been chatting with Chris and Kurt @ Erico. Good guys, not pushy at all. Nothing wrong with foothills based on my past experience. Guess it will just come down to who gives me a better price.

Erico is good. I almost picked up a consigned 675 from them but went with foothills instead. I live in Belmar so foothills is right there. If you don't have to go new you can easily find a newer model with >1k miles for $8000ish. You might want to look around as well. If you pick up an 2009-2010 new model(2009-2011 same exact model just no blue) triumph will give you a free arrow exhaust, quickshifter, and adjustable levers - $1500 worth of things for free. I got mine brand new from foothills for 9otd with all that free stuff. Wasn't even a question on wether i was gonna pull the trigger on that deal lol.

Also triumph675.net is the place for info. Everything and anything you want to know they'll get you set on.

It's a fun little bike. I rode one today at Foothills demo day.

For an advertised 32" seat height, it's really not so tall. The seat is really narrow in the front so even average inseams can get both feet down.

I can attest to that. I had no problem flat footing it, and I'm not tall by any means.

Did someone crash a 675 at Pueblo? Who, where is ACES? Might be interested in a backup motor and parts for the race bike.
