Hi :hibye: I'm SULLY, some of you know me, some of you don't, but hopefully that will change by summer :)

I ride a Suzuki GSXR 600- my second bike, which I really love, but was seriously intimidated to ride at first because it needed to be lowered. My first bike was a Harley.. it was cool at first, but quickly became booooring  plus I didn't really fit in with the "harley" crowd  !! : (eh, but who's to say I fit in with this crowd :dunno:)

I've been riding for about 6 years now, but learned how to ride in 1989.. My bike is a little tall for me - even after being lowered an inch, but I have gotten accustomed to it (regardless of how much I am teased by it). :guns:

I like to ride as much as I can.. although have never been to the track yet  one day, one day.. 8)

Not sure what I want to be when I grow up tho.. ;)

Hi I'm Ashli :)
Some know me, although I dont know that many of the girls on here... are there very many girls on here??? Well I ride Suzuki SV650, and its my first street bike although I've had it over a year I am not bored with it and soon will be taking it to the track 8) I think most people know of me as Hoopty's girlfriend but hopefully that will change this summer and you'll actually know my name! :D I asked a couple people how they would describe me in one word and the top answer was "Perky" so whatever, I guess I'm perky... so dont be afraid to say hello... Oh and I manage/"coach" the CSC softball team.... The Masterbatters :D

Hello My name is Cat , I just got my bike in October but five days after I got it, my Fiance' crashed his bike and past away. So needless to say I didn't really start riding tell late November and it was on and off. But I'm doing Pretty good now. I have a '01 YZF 600 which is a tank of a bike....especially for someone who is 5'2.
I would like to get a newer R6 by Mid summer so we'll see.... So far I do a good job keeping up with Most the guys, I can only get better from here..right.
I also have a YZ125 I raced dirt for 2yrs, now that is my first love... Look forward to meeting ya'all

Don't have a bike...yet. I plan to get one next spring. I'm trying to decide between a ZX6R and a Suzuki GS500. I need one that sits more upright than a GSXR due to my medical condition. I also need one I can fit on. I am also only 5'2". Any suggestions girls?? I would love for one of the girls to teach me to ride. (I would need to borrow a bike though) I'm worried my hubby will be too "aggressive" about it. But I am known through my husband but apparrently, at the AMA's at least, I am a bit more popular. No offense if he reads this. Love ya!

I know most girls on CSC, talk to a few and (forgive me) need to remember some names. I don't ride too much, but am getting better with my bike and more comfortable with riding.

The next bike that i want to get is either an SV650 or an R6, i've sat on both and unfortunately would have to lower both atleast an inch. Maybe by next summer, maybe not. I love my bike, she's my fat bitch so we're cool.

Those of you that have been around me know my personality. pretty laid back, alittle wild and crazy when under the influence, loud and obnoxious, sarcastic, and alittle off beat. I love dancing and would love for us all to ditch the guys and go shake our asses :)

My son is going to be 9 this summer and is my mini me. he's a smartass like his ma and a bit outspoken but that's what it takes to survive the madness.

About myself....hmmm....well, I am 6 feet tall, so I don't have too many issues with needing to lower my bikes. I have a 3 year old daughter who has her own pocket bike, and is most opinionated about Hondas :D. I have grown up around cars and racing, and over half of my family is into cars one way or another (my lil sister has a Pro Street drag car, my dad is into Vintage racing with his Lotus's, my uncle is a former motorcycle racer who now builds motors and races shifter carts). Comments that I hear other people use most to describe me are bitch and crazy.
There are pics of my bike and my lil one on pocket bike (her friends, I need to post up the one of hers) in my album.

And I would kill to be out on the track and racing...been around a few times, would love to be around it more. I am not yet willing to give up my street bike and go full track, but just watching all the races makes me crazy. Maybe someday I will grow up and get a race bike...or just find a rich boyfriend to buy me one ;)

I'm Jenny. I started riding in Sept of '02 on an EX500 (which I would strongly recommend to you ms-im4u2. I bought an R6 a year later and then bought my Ducati 749S last September. Mmmm Ducati.

I prefer track riding to street these days, and will be racing my *cough* kc's *cough* 99 R6 later on this year. After my job change in a few weeks here, I expect I'll be at most ladies nights on Tuesdays. Woohoo SCR! My favorite track 'round here by far.

My name is Tanya, I took the MSF course in May of 03, found my Ducati 620 Monster in March of 04. I sucked pretty bad at first, then Marilou and Rick took me out and gave me some great pointers for canyon carving and I've been addicted since.
I just did my first go around on the track about 3 weeks ago, (CBRchick gave me great pointers for riding SCR) and now I'm totally addicted to the track.
Some words that have been used to describe me: independant, opinionated, stubborn, passionate, sarcastic, lively and generous. 8)

Hi :hibye: I'm Siobhan (phonetics: Sho-von)

Born in Denmark, raised in Denver.
I like Black capped Chikadees and Chinese Noodles (name that song)

My first bike was really a Yamaha dirtbike, back in the day when FOX racing started. I used to jump ramps over the roping arena near our house in Castlewood Canyon/Franktown with it. (yes, I was a MAJOUR tom-boy  ) Then, my Mom bought me a Piaggio, sort of like a Vespa, but with peddles.
That was a blast to take jumps with!

My first street bike was a '98 Katana. 2 yrs ago, my first track day was CA Superbike @ Laguna on a Ninja and came back and traded in the Zuki for my Aprilia

Happy Trails!

It's always awesome to see the girls out riding. :headbang:

Wow, so many ladies on this forum!!

I'm Kim, been riding for about 3 months now. I bought my first bike 3 months and 1 week ago so I'm REALLY new to riding. I seem to hold my own and have put on 1200 miles so far. I'm 5'2" and was pretty scared about buying a big bike, so I opted for the Ninja 250. It's a great bike to start out on, but I'm ready to upgrade. That won't be for a year or so though. The little 250 can hold it's own, I was suprised.

Oh, and about shaking that ass....I'm all for it. Name the date and place...I'm there!

Love seeing all the other chicks out riding. Is there a secret wave showing that we are part of this forum??

People describe me as laid back, perky, outspoken, loud, and a great table dancer (with a few drinks in me!!)

Really looking forward to meeing up with a few chicks from this forum!!!

Hey ladies!!!
My name is Sandi and I started riding dirt bikes when I was about 8 years old. I got my first street bike about 4 years ago.It was a 97' ZX-7R. It was an all steel 550 pound tank!! I just bought it because my friend sold it to me REAL cheap. Needless to say it was a good bike to learn on and crash on! I had that bike about 2 years.
Now I own a 2002 Triumph 955i triple.:yay: I live in Golden, origianally from Daytona, Florida. People would descibe me as outgoing, assertive, bratally honest sometimes :guns: loyal and a little crazy :headbang: Especially after a couple  I'm looking forward to meeting y'all sometime soon.:D I'm think going to the Breck on Wed. Let me know if any of you are interested.

Hey ladies.... I've posted on this forum for a couple years, not too often though. I try to chat in the chat room when I'm bored at work but I haven't made it to any Denver area CSC meets, only a Colorado Springs one. I bought a 92 FZR 600 in 2002 which I rode for only a little bit then had to sell. Last October I bought my 2001 Honda CBR 600 F4i and I love it. Fuel Injection rocks! I use it as my commuter, and I love a road trip. I might get it to the track at the end of the year or more likely next. I have too many point on my license to speed, but I love riding with people. Let me know of any good routes you have in Colorado or surrounding states =)

I currently ride a '03 Honda 600RR. I started on a '96 F3 about 5 years ago and then got an '02 F4i two years later. Once I saw the RR, I had to trade up the F4i :D

I race last season under number 513 on a '00 R6. I was sharing the bike with my boyfriend at the time, and when we broke up a few months ago, he got the race bike and I got the washer and dryer.

I definitely love the track more than street riding and want to get back into racing. I have been seriously thinking about turning the RR into a track bike ... we'll see where the funds take me.

I look forward to meeting more of you fellow women riders!

riding for three years, not often lately, although hopefully with a work schedule change, Ladies night will become a recurring event. First bike, was the brand new TT, learned on that...then commandiered my husband's brand new , at the time, cbr once he started racing almost exclusively. crashed the tt, not hard core, but enough to make it expensive, so started making that a track/race bike over the winter. Used to ride to work, but generally don't anymore, for fear of ign'nt cagers, (take for instance...little lady + Ford Excursion + 4 screaming kids in back + cell phone and mascara application = observation of surroundings, including myself, equal to ZERO)
Siobhan, it was nice to meet you at SCR, and Lisa, if you are on here...c'mon out...You can hit donna up for track tour...just pay her in something cheetah print... :)
SPeaking of SCR...anyone go today? I missed out  ...next time though...6/21...right?
Not on here much, so Iwill say, "nice to meetchy'all," and i'll pipe back up next year or something, race license in hand.

:hibye: Hi All,
In case you haven't figured it out already there are a lot of cool chicks in the club.

Ummm...let's see. I'm probably one of the more boring ones, but here is a tid-bit about me.

Important things first :D , I ride a blue 2001 SV650S. I've been riding for a little over 3 years.
I live in the Springs.
I'm a wildlife research biologist.
I'm a wildland fire-fighter.
I'm an EMT.
I'm 27. No husband. No kids. (I'm working the last 2. ;) )
I like to dance.
I love to ride.
This past winter I learned to snowboard & though I spent a lot of my time on my booty...I had a blast....thanks to my friends in the CSC.
I've lived in several places, but I've spent most of my life in the southeast US...CO is the furthest NW.

I haven’t really had the chance to meet a lot of you yet. I did get the chance to meet and ride with a few of you last summer on that wonderfully wet ride...

I’ve been riding now for 5 or 6 years (not sure if injury time off counts).

I’m a fairly active person. Besides riding, I’ll play soccer until I die, hike, snowboard, and a ton of other things. I wanted to play with the Masterbatters but school got in the way (sorry Ashli :? ). I work for Denver Water as a Water Quality Investigator but I’m pursuing a different career in graphic design (school first). I’m pretty quite until you get to know me then all hell can break loose… Hehe…

My friends tell me that I’m pretty laid back, open, honest and nice (unless you are on the other team… :devil1: ).

I’m looking forward to meeting more of you.

:spit: HA!!!! Been there!

I started out riding a 99' Katana 750. Not great since I had not taken the MSF course yet. And it was a beast -- Im 5'4". Here I am going 5 mph teetering the whole way. ha ha .

My second bike was a GSXR-600. I liked it alright, but my height posed a problem, so I only kept it for a year or so, since I didnt feel confortable on it.

My wonderful husband just bought me a silver '05 Honda 600rr as a wedding gift... WOOHOO. And the little bit of time that I have been able to spend on it has been awesome. It rides sooooo much better than the GSX-R. ( I still love Suzuki... it will always have a special place in my heart.... ) Im still in the phase of getting used to it..... but really looking forward to putting a few miles on it.

The thought of the track excites me .... but I gotta be able to canyon carve first . Walk, then run.... he.he..

Hello everyone-
I am the newest newbie :| -I think. I ride a 2001 CBR600F4i. I have not been riding long at all--like about 2 months is all. I am just new to the whole scene.
Born and raised in Westminster and just about 6 months ago I moved to Aurora with my soon-2-B-hubby. He is the one that got me into riding. I work at University of Colorado Hospital as a Referral Specialist--going on 3 years now.
I tend to be pretty quiet until I get to know you--then watch out--craziness!!! It will be nice to meet/get to know ya'll.

I have an F4i too. From the way it sits compared to other sportbikes I think its a great bike to learn on (a bit more comfortable). I think if you're new some of the group rides can be intimidating since people say "ride at your own pace" then they haul ass through the canyons. So I would say to make sure you're comfortable with yourself before you join CSC for a ride. My $0.02.

Sully
Tue Jun 14th, 2005, 03:31 PM
Yes.. but even tho those people haul ass thru the canyons.. the group will always wait .. regardless... and we do have designated sweepers too.. just in case anything was to happen.. Definitely ride at your own pace.. we will wait.. no need to rush or ride beyond your limits.. this only causes poor judgement and anxiety... :|

Hey I'm Ashli :hibye:
When I started riding I found it easier for me to learn by following someone, obviously someone who knows what they are doing... later on when I wanted to hit more canyons I had my boyfriend (who also races) take me into some canyons and show me a few things that I never knew would help so much, simple things too.. Just my .02

I pretty much took a whole year to get familiar with my "Kan-a-tuna". Rode it everywhere, even more than I think I ride the Aprilia now. Big accomplishment was riding to Grand Junction through Hail, 30mph winds...

I say, stick to it alone or with some one to follow, like Ashli said. Best advice I ever got was to never get sucked into a group if you decide to head out. First big group ride, my friend ate a corner near Palmer Lake.

PM any of us if you feel like tagging along for a couple hours or half day ride or just show up on a ride. There's always some good people who'll watch out for ya! :)

Hey lindsay, welcome to the club and to the girls group! i just started riding in october of last year and am still pretty slow and overly cautious (which is alwasy a good thing :) )

definitely PM us girls if/when you feel up for a ride. I live in thornton and am down for tooling around town, just let us know! ( a good friend of mine just bought her first bike, a 2005 gsxr 500 i believe and she's in aurora too, next time she and i go out i'll PM ya)

p.s. i went on my first csc ride about a couple months after first riding and it wasn't bad at all. the faster folks took off while a few others stayed behind with me until we would catch up with the others. everyone is cool with new riders and are good about waiting til everyone catches up and so on...

Mel

GSXR500? damnit women, I taught you better than that! :slap: You mean a GS 500? that is a good starter bike.
Learning for a lot of people just takes time and experience in the seat. I may not be the best person to learn from, as I am much better at giving advice than taking it.
I had no idea how to ride, never reallly been on a bike, or even really around them (save for maybe 3 BS rides) when I went out and bought my GSXR in 1998 at 18 years old. I almost didn't start riding: a friend at the time had a Ninja 500 that she told me to try and ride if I really wanted to get my own bike. I got it started, went in a straight line for about 50 feet, and almost ate it trying to turn. I was so uncomfortable: my knees were up in my elbows, and I could not turn the damn thing....she spent the next week telling me I would be a disaster on a bike till I showed up on my purple GSXR (at which time she said I would kill myself  ).
At 6 feet tall, there was nothing else in the 600 or under market that would acomodate me and my long legs  . My way of learning was to just get on and do it....at 18 and being one of very VERY few girls who rode, I let my attitude and ego take charge of a lot, and frankly it is amazing that I am still here and riding, not to mention on the same bike, after the stunts I pulled.
Biggest thing to remember is that, while you can learn from the faster people, until you are VERY comfortable, you will not BE one of the faster people. Watch how they turn in the canyons, but do not follow how they turn in the canyon (or anywhere else) or you can cut too tight and wreck (I watched an experienced guy do this leaving LoDo 2 days after buying my bike). Just do what feels right to you, pay attention to how the bike feels, the RPM range, the throttle response, and most of all, the braking. Getting on the throttle too hard in a turn, or on the brakes too hard going into a turn, can freak you out. And when you are already doing something, there is not much room for correction.

So Yesterday I was dink'in around in a parking lot (empty), I came to a stop on a bump  (which was my first and biggest mistake), so I put my feet down which my toes would barley touch--I had to pause a second because a car pulled in--the wind blew and knocked me over--I couldn't keep the bike from falling :cussing: so i just kinda let it down gently until it was on the ground. One it was down--I couldn't pick it back up--Maybe I wasn't trying hard enough (it was a freak'in heavy mo-fo!!), but now I am afraid if I do dump it out on the street and I can't pick it back up I am SOOOO screwed. Heres the question-what the best way to get the shiny side back up quickly?--I dont intend on doing it again but just in case I have another mislap in judgement.

P.S. I did learn my lession on that-

lol, what! I RIDE A YAMI DAMNIT!!! i dont know what those suckzuki's are, pfffff... love me i'm cute!

lindsay the two times i dropped my bike were pretty much the same way as you did. well, haha, the first time was right infront of marauder (who i bought it from) then (and i tell this so that the record is straight!) he dumped it in the garage infront of me

second time i pulled up to my dads house on a hill, pulled in abit too close to the curb to be off centered but not close enough to actually beable to put my right foot on the curb and when i tried to put the kickstand down the bike tipped over to the right, my foot slipped and all 400 pounds landed on my right leg.

my dad had to help me get the bike up, but i'm guessing that if you are on your own then pushing may be easier than pulling..... that's my assumption, both times i thankfully, was not by myself so i didn't have to test that theory on my own.

I think everyone drops their bike once or twice. There will always be someone around to help you... and there are technics to pick up a big heavy bike out there. Might want to search the internet on that.

As for not really fitting on the gsxr, I feel the same way on a gsxr600. My cbr 600 f4i is a lot more comfortable... as is a yamaha.

Heres the question-what the best way to get the shiny side back up quickly?--I dont intend on doing it again but just in case I have another mislap in judgement.

[/color]

Assuming the bike is on the left side:

First, HIT THE KILL SWITCH.

Next, turn off the gas if necessary.

Make sure the bike is in gear if you can get to it. If the bike is not in gear and you cannot get it in gear the technique becomes more difficult but can still be done.

Standing with your butt toward the seat, stoop down and with your right hand take the left grip.

When you grab the grip, pull it until it is as close to the tank as possible. With your left hand find something sturdy to grab hold of under the seat. The closer your left hand is to your body the better.

You place your butt mid way on the edge of the seat.

This is CRUCIAL.

The placement of your butt too high or too low on the seat will not give you the leverage angle. You are pushing the bike with your butt and upper legs. You will have to pull up with your arms a bit butt mostly you will be pushing the bike up with your legs.

You must have good traction under your feet or your feet will slip. If there is gravel under your feet sweep it away with your boots until you get dirt. Same for grass. Be careful not to push the bike over the other side ;)

Once you have the bike up, carefully put the side stand down and lower the bike to it.

If you can't get to the side stand with the heel of your boot, turn carefully and grab both grips then put the bike on side or center stand.

The process is the same if the bike is on it's right side. But your hands are reversed, of course. Your LEFT HAND is on the RIGHT GRIP and your RIGHT HAND grabs UNDER THE SEAT. It is easier to get it into gear. Remember to put the side stand out first so that you can ease the bike onto it once it is upright.

Wow, good advice Christine! I will have to read that a few more times to get the thing memorized just in case.
The only time my bike has ever gone down was when I was hit my a stupid drunk kid. Long story, but basically kid hit from the side with a truck and knocked me over (at a stop light, I was stopped, be was barely moving), I cursed at him, he and his friend got out and tried to hit me (fist wise). Couple other people got involved-including my riding partner who took a nasty hit to the face, and the kids took off. I had so much adreneline pumping through me that I don't know how I got the bike up...I just kinda grabbed, pulled, jumped on and went after them (someone needed an ass beating for scratching my bike).
If you are calm and collected, things seem a lot harder to do then when you are pissed off and full of adreneline.

Hello ladies! I am a new rider as well ( I just got my bike on Tuesday of last week). It's an '03 Kan-a-tuna.... hahaha... yeah it's a beast. But it's a good bike for me because it's lower to the ground and doesn't try to dump me if I pop the clutch a little by accident.

So... a little about me. I'm a student up at CSU. I have 1 1/2 years left until graduation (it seems far away but I know the time is going to fly past me). I'm a pretty happy, sarcastic and goofy person who just wants to laugh and have fun. I hate BS and don't like to waste my time dealing with it. I try to avoid it but sometimes it is inevitable...I'm very assertive and would like people to be the same to me. But life is too short to take everything seriously, that's why I still play in the dirt!!! (ie I work in construction). From what I have read, everyone here seems very fun and I am looking forward to meeting everyone!

CBRChick: I am sure your advise on how to lift the bike up will be very helpful for me if I do dump it (which I hope I won't but probably will... knock on wood) considering my bike weighs over 450lbs!

EarthAngel: I know exactly how you feel about riding in groups. I wouldn't feel comfortable riding with a group just yet. I am having fun learning by myself from just riding to/from work and riding around town. Traffic can be a little intimidating but atleast I don't have to worry about keeping up with the other riders. I know they wouldn't expect me to, but I would probably feel like I should try to. I also completed the MSF course and that was a BIG help. Plus... you don't ride your won bike so if you drop it, it doesn't really matter :) My class was taught by a 55 year old lady and her son. They were very encouraging and helpful. I really did learn a lot and also got my license through them. I would suggest the course to any new rider.

I hope to see you all around soon!

Hi All! I guess I should say something about myself. I've been riding for about 3 years now. I currently ride a Ducati S2R and I love it! The extent of my riding experience has taken place here in Colorado from canyon riding to track days. I have been very fortunate to have good and nurturing coaches and riding buddies that have helped me along the way. I think we are very lucky to live in Colorado and have the best canyons to explore.

I want to welcome the new girls to the forum and congratulate them on their new accomplishments. Just want to let them know that the key to improving your riding is saddle time. Be safe out there and hope to meet you girls out there soon. :)

.......I still have yet to get on the highway--that should be interesting. .

definitely get some road time under your belt before getting on the highway. When i purchased my bike, the only riding i had done before was in the msf class. the guy i bought my bike from lived out in aurora, 225 and mississippi (somewhere around there) and i had to ride the bike from his place to thornton, 128th and colorado blvd.... FREAKING SCARY!!!!!!!

not to scare anyone that is new on the roads, but just something to consider. first of all, the road is right there, DO NOT look down.. secondly, when you are in a car you have a sense of protection from the body of the car, but on a bike you are in the open, so when other cars are zipping by you or riding your ass because you are only going at max like 55 mph it can start to get to you. road construction sucks balls, pot holes, gravel, dirt, unfinished roads with grooves that pull you in any direction that the grooves are going, those sucked royally! finally, the wind factor was the scariest part for me, especially when a big ass semi runs past you...

but the good thing about highway driving when you are new is that its just straight and no stop and go, unless there is traffic of course!!

I will definitely never forget that first day, but it does get easier and more fun!!!

Here is the link to the schedule of the Ladies Night Track Days @ SCR. http://www.2ndcreekraceway.com/info/ladies.html Its a pretty awesome deal for $45 and there are usually only around 4 girls out on the track. If during some nights we can get at least 5 girls then we can chip into a lapper card and it brings it down to $36 per girl.

Between the job, kids, weather, and my nerves, I just don't seem to get out on the bike :( I've only ridden it once since we bought it a month ago and stuck to the nearest school parking lot  It was nerve-wracking and not very comfortable, but it is hard to tell if it was just my nerves, length of time since I'd learned, or the ergonomics of the bike being a lot different than that Buell I learned on. Probably a combination of the both. At any rate, I'm not giving up....just may take me a bit longer than the average joe to get comfy riding. We're also considering finding a diff. bike with a less aggressive stance, so that might help a bit.

Anyhoo, nice to "e-meet" you all, look forward to meeting in person sometime :)

The kids eat up our time, definitely. The 13 and 14 year olds are a particular joy to raise right now, also, so that makes things interesting. The curse my mother put on me at age 15 has definitely come true (the one where she wished I would someday have children as evil as I was when I was a teen, lol)

I guess I have to add another week of non-riding to my tally...finally had the inclination and time to ride, but hurt my neck/back Sat. morning and am just now finally able to turn my head to the side with tolerable pain :banghead: Hopefully this week/weekend I can hop on for some practice time

Hope you all had a great 4th of July weekend...look forward to meeting you all soon!

Been riding solo for 4 years now ... can totally understand not feeling in place with the Harley crowd. I'm 5 foot nada, had to have the Sportie lowered front and rear, foot pegs pulled back with other minor adjustments she fits me fine. She's my Shortie Sportie!

Discussed buying a used sport bike to race when I found out about the Girls Night, but was immediately shot down when my kids found out. But I'm thinking, maybe give it a few years ... wait for the little man to get a bit older and the first two grown and out of the house ... and I'll try that subject again.

I've been away from the forum for a while, but before Amazzon left I wanted to try to get some girls together for a night at Club Ra?! Anyone still interested?

I've been away from the forum for a while, but before Amazzon left I wanted to try to get some girls together for a night at Club Ra?! Anyone still interested?

I am down for this, depending on when. I am a boring old mommy of one lil girl (my princess). I was married and pregnant prior to turning 21, so I actually never really went out to the whole bar and club scene (went to lodos once about 6 months ago, and club beyond 2 weeks ago).
I am a hideous dancer, but discovered that after a few drinks I apparently don't care anymore.

Well I have been on the forum off and on since I moved to Colorado from California in January. My fiancee (HRCRider) and I live out in the Conservatory in SouthEast Aurora.

I've been riding for about 4 years now...still have my first bike (Ninja 250 with everything done to it to try to make it more attractive :) ) and about 3 years ago I had an NC35 (RVF400) imported over from Thailand.

I'm super short (4'10"...beat that shorties :lol) so 600s are out for me :( Currently I don't ride as much as I like since the RVF was so much $$$$ and so much work I am too paranoid to take it out much. And since I feel I've finally outgrown the Ninja (not quite literally) we are probably going to sell it and pick up either a CBR250RR or a CBR400R...need to decide which I'll be more comfy on.

So yep...anyone that thinks they're too short to ride a sportbike...just wait til you see me  I was damned determined to get me full fairing bikes ;)

 My sister in law is 5'10" and I always tell her that she is going to finally add some height to the Beers family ;)

In regards to the Ninja...I would definitely be interested in a buyer...it's got everything you can possibly do to a Ninja 250  Feel free to let her know she can send me a message through the board or via email beers_kelly@hotmail.com

Lucky: Hi! Oh I'd love to go riding tonight but sadly I'm on OT - I hope to be finished by this weekend if you are gonna be around. I see a rookie ride is in the works but I have Sat. evening plans in Denver and a ride out to Morrison to start a ride is just a bit too far for me this time. Depending on how much fun I have Sat. night, I might be up for a late Sunday ride though.

Bat,

I am going to be in Vegas until Sunday. We can try for a Sunday night ride (Kristina might be willing to go as well) or shoot for another night. There is also another female rider, Angela, up in Cheyenne that wants to come down so we definitely all need to go riding. Do you like city riding or canyons? I prefer canyons, theyre a little more fun for my taste. Let me know!

Hey Lucky,

I'll shoot you and Kristina a PM with my #. Only been up in the hills three times (Estes, Red Feathers) but I'm happy to follow long as we don't hit anything too gnarly yet. Rather stay away from lotsa traffic and def not ready for I-25 (ack).

If Sunday doesn't work out, 'tis no problem. I can swing something next week, day or eve, but gonna be gone 22-24. Give me a holler. :) You end up riding Wed. eve? (was dayum hot out)

Hey Ladies - none of you know me for sure, but here I am. I'm a 41-y-o Colorado native. My only child is turning 18 this school year and I'm on the edge of some serious me-time. I started with a lawn-mower minibike around the age of 9 and have worked my way up to my current ride over the years. Today I ride a Suzuki VS1400 (yeah, I know.... not a sportbike). I consider myself an experienced rider 8)
With a little more influence, I will probably add another bike to the garage... you never know what will come of a woman with all that free time. :D I'm 5'4" and have been lifting weights seriously for about the last 8 years.
People describe me as independent, multi-fasceted, and intense. My hockey teammates recently nic-named me Tank, but I'm really just another teddy bear.

I just joined Girls Only.. and boy am I glad it's here. I don't have a bike yet... I'm still working on it. I rode when I was growing up.. mainly my brother's mini bike, and my cousins had bigger bikes that I learned on.

I'm like Mel.. I'm partial to Honda... and I'm having a hard time trying to decide whether I want a touring or sportsbike. I like both, just don't have the funds for both.. lol. I've been sittin' on so many bikes, I think I've confused the hell outta myself doing it. Any and all suggestions are welcomed!

I live in Lakewood, so I know I'm a bit away from all of you in Aurora. Lindsay, I'm all for riding together, and will give you a shout when I get my bike. I need to get myself re-endorsed. It's been years since I've ridden. Here lately, I'm the passenger, and I want to be the driver.

I wanted to buy the Katana from Jason, but someone else got to him before I could. Then I started looking at GOTTI's wife's bike he has listed. I really like it. Hopefully by next Spring, I'll be ready to get up 'n go with you guys.

Thanks for hearing me out.. I love bikes and want to ride as much as I can... this time as the driver though!

Thanks Reean, it's funny that you put Hon-Duh... when my b/f bought the Honda VFR750 from a guy he works with, we were discussing personalized plates. HonDuh came up .. lol. I've got alot of different ideas in mind when I get mine. I hope at least a few of them aren't already taken.

Do you feel that Suzuki puts out a better bike or do you just prefer Suzuki over Honda? This will be my first bike, and I want to be comfortable riding it. I'm just not familiar with Suzuki's.

Thanks for the welcome & for your suggestions!

Hey Suzi, since you asked about bikes, here is the (sorta) run down, and of course it is all opinion based.
What type of bike you get is really gonna come down to what you are wanting out of it. Honda makes great, long lasting, easy to maintain bikes...they just don't have the power or handling that a Suzuki or a Yamaha do. They sit relatively low (the 600's at least) and work quite well for shorter women because of that (though for someone like me, it makes it a PIA to ride with long ass legs). Suzuki and Yamaha make a bike that out of the box can compete on the track (I mean, to truely "race" you will need plastics and all). The R6 sits pretty low too, and technically anything can be lowered (suzuki seat height is about the same as the others, but they have a wider stance). Kawi has really come up in the market and the ZX6RR are pretty sweet bikes too (I wouldn't mind a bio hazard orange ZX6RR for the street, even though it is not purple).
No matter what you get, you really aren't going to be using all it has to offer on the streets, so really it will come down to what you like, what feels good, and what is affordable (and what has the pretty colors ;)). Best bet is to sit on them all and see what makes you feel like you have the best overall control (reach to clip ons, brakes, peg position, firm footing).
And that is my opinion, it is worth about what you paid for it. :D

Thank you. I appreciate all the great advise. I'm long legged as well.. sit short cuz I'm high waisted.

I've gone around & sat on different bikes, and now I'm trying to decide. In the beginning, I was wanting a tour..but the more I sat on the sports, I'm leaning towards them. I've always liked Honda.. but now I'm seeing so much more with Suzuki. I don't think I really need anything with alot of power just yet.. I love racing, but not sure if I will race the bike. I'm more into racing cars.. but hey, ya never know.

I know what 'cha mean about the colors.. my fav color is purple.

Well, I am obsessed - not just with the bike but with getting better. I hate that I still have soooooo much to learn. Patience is NOT one of my virtues. Wanna be better NOW!!! lol, but seriously, I know that it comes with saddle time - so I ride whenever I can shirk my other responsibilities and go.

being on the track is definitely a blast, loved both times out there and look forward to doing it again! The last couple of rides through the canyons left me with shit in my pants as i almost ran off the mountain, ran headon into oncoming cars and trucks, and taking sharp turns that should just not exist!!! but i'm still down for canyon riding, lol, it's getting a sitter for rides that seems to complicate my saddle time :(

although now that we live further away from grandpa i think a weekend sitter may become available on a regular basis :D

:D Greywolf that's great and congratulations on gettin' your new bike! I finally got mine just before Christmas, but it's not a sports bike. My bf and I do have a sports bike, but he rides it. I got a great deal on a 2002 Yamaha V-Star 650 Custom and I love it. As you all know, purple is my fav color, and it's a beauty. I had been bidding on another bike on EBay, and now I'm glad I missed making a bid. To make a long story shorter, I was contacted by the seller on EBay about other bikes he was going to put on to sell. I went to take a look and there it was, had my name allll over it. It was his wife's bike and wanted what she owed on it. So I got a steal for sure.

If anyone wants to ride, let me know. With my work schedule, I have Sun, Mon & Tuesdays off. Get off Sunday morning at 3am. I can get 4 hrs of zzzz's then I'm ready to roll. I'm wanting to get as much saddle time in as I can get. I'm not as experienced as most of you are, so I want to learn as much as I can. Give me a shout if you're interested. I'm in the Lakewood area, off of Colfax & Simms.

That goes for any of y'all - I still haven't really found a great eastern route - just goofing around on the backroads until summer gets here and we can hit the canyons again.

Hi to all,
My name is Felicia, I ride a 750 Kaw that I aquired last summer when my youngest daughter graduated high school. I think I am way too young to have kids that old, but hey I started early. (Thats my excuse).

Been drag racing with my husband at Bandimere for 8 years now so going fast doesnt bother me, but that first canyon ride up to Morrison was a shaky ride, Lots of Sphincter action

Look forward to meeting all of you, and riding more this summer. Figures that the weather is good enough to get excited, then it snows. Gotta love Colorado...

Hi All,

Another site member suggested I join the sportbike club. I haven't been riding long at all...only since last summer and then after my speedometer cable broke, I've lost the nerve to deal with traffic. I know, seems pretty whimpy, and you'd think my first fall would have kept me from riding...I'm just weird that way I guess. Anyway, my first bike is a nice old '79 KawiKZ750. "It's a great starter bike." as a friend told me when he helped to find one last summer.

Well, as I've been reading this forum for the past couple of days, all I can say is you all are my idols. Damn you're all an awesome group.

I'm working on getting my bike back up and running and I think I've found a couple of people to ride with in the weeks to come. I just love the personality of people who ride. There's so much for me to learn and so much that my new riding buddies are willing to help me with.

Still so much more to read on this site. :)

Hey there, My name is Mandy, I've been a member to the site for a few months, but am just now comfortable riding and thought I would say hello. I took the MSF class and bought my Ninja250 in March, so haven't been riding all that long. I'm 29, have a 2 year old son and live in Denver. Looking forward to riding this summer

Hey everyone. Thanks Jenny for giving me permission to post here. This forum is fantastic.

I've been riding since 1991 or so. I started out on a Honda 125 motorschooter. I then had a Ninja 250 for quite a few years and last year I bought the CBR.

I absolutely love riding!

Hey girlies!
I am from Dallas, Tx. I ride and S2R Duc, I started riding in 02' after my husband died from cancer. I always wanted a bike and I used some money for an 01'Duc instead of a grievence counselor. Much better choice :). I fell immediatly in love with it and had a new set of friends. I started the Starbuck's riders here in Dallas and I am the former president of the Texas Sportbike Association. I do lots of activities in the female riding community in the North Texas area. I have a ride I do with the girls called the Estrogen Ride. I plan an afternoon for the girls to ride together and we visit the local Arboretum, bed and breakfasts for brunch and other activities that guys have no intrest in joining :). We have traveled to CO the past 2 summers and my new husband, kids and I are ready for a change and would love to move to CO. I figured that joining the sport bike group has given me such happiness in the past 5 yrs here, that this would be the way to start networking in CO. I am an addict, I admit it! I love the track, long distance and I commute (when it's not 103). I look forward to meeting new girlies. Thanks for having me.

Let me be the first to welcome ya. Welcome!:hibye:

I think I finally found another reason why I started riding a year ago...the "after-divorce therapy".;) And yup...have made some swell new friends along the way.

Haven't hit the track...um yet...but, I do love the mountain riding. The only time you may not want to ride here in CO is during the winter (at times):cold:. Oh, and if I may give a little advice...move to the Northern Front Range...we're so much closer to the hills over here;-)

Glad to have ya...let us know when you get here.

My hubby tried teaching me to ride about 4,5 years ago on an old yamaha then a honda shadow. Didn't do to well and failed the MSF class when I didn't stay in the curve. Then I had an Aprilia Atlantic 500 scooter that I rode from Ohio to Colorado and then from Colorado to the west coast and back - still not thrilled with motorcycling!

Then I got a hair up my ass and decided to try a sport bike. Score! So much easier to handle than any of those other bikes. Took the MSF class again in July and passed. Now I need lots of practice, so if anyone wants to ride during the week, except Thursdays, let me know!

Hope to start meeting some of you soon. I'll be at the meet tonight at Buffalo Wild Wings in Superior. Ride Safe. Rita

Are you a Jew on a sport bike too? Now that is a real novelty. I thought I was one of the only ones. I found one of three guys that is Jewish and married him.

I would love any help on moving info. Hubby ordered a welcome packet from CO and trying to figure out the j-o-b situation. I am in sales management and so is my husband. We were thinking CO springs and we love Durango but, totally up for advice on realestate, schools(daughter 12 and son 9) and good place for doing outdoorsy type stuff. I am under the impression that is the whole state. Very nice meeting ya'll.

Yes, and I'm sure my mother is rolling over in her grave! That many jews in Texas? Where'd you find him?! I did not look to marry a jew as I always heard they cheat on their wives; and I had my brother, step-father, and uncles as primo examples! :loser:

I don't know what to tell you about the job situation. You may want to check out denverpost.com classifieds and craigslist.com classifieds.

As for housing, right now there are a zillion homes on the market and it's the best time to buy. I love Durango too, unfortunately it's a small town with few jobs. I'm in the Denver suburbs and it's been growing like mad and traffic can be unbearable at rush hour. FACT: Colorado: The State has a population of 4,301,261 in 2000, a 30.6 percent increase since 1990 with more than 1 million people moving to Colorado in the past decade, an average of 276 new residents every day for the past decade. The latest count in 2005 was 4.6 mil. It's not the quiet paradise it use to be. You are correct; recreational opportunities abound everywhere.

Good luck on your search and let us know when you get here! Until then, ride safe!

Dallas and Plano are a highly populated Jewish area. There are 8 synagogs from my house and 12 miles in to Dallas and all along the same road. As for Jewish men cheating, humm don't know what to tell ya there. From my experience it's an epidemic from all walks of life. Take care and good luck.

Hey all! Newbie (sorta) here! I rode dirt bikes forever, got my first yamaha 60 enduro when I was 8 :) , but haven't ridden in YEARS!! I think the hubby is a bit jealous because I take off riding and leave him with the kids...LOL

I just bought a Kawasaki Ninja 500 in May and I LOVE IT!!! I use it to commute to work once or twice a week....live in Co Springs and work in LoneTree.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi. I'd love to meet up with anyone who lives near the Stetson Hills/Springs Ranch area for rides.

Have a great weekend!!

Hi everyone! I wanted to introduce myself. I am sort of new to riding- I bought a BMW R1200C in 2001 when I was still slightly medicated after a breast reduction. I really wanted to ride, but it was the wrong bike and made me kind of skittish about riding. I sold it and have sort of sulked ever since as my boyfriend has had a bike for much of that time.

My bf sold his cruiser and bought a Ducati which made me incredibly jealous and, as it is crap to ride on as a passenger, I just bought my own bike. It is a '79 CB400F, which is technically a supersport . I've yet to take it out anywhere too exciting, but I'v done my parking lot training and easy backroad riding. I took the MSF class in 2001 and am currently reading Houghs' "Proficient Motorcycling". I am much more confident on this bike, as it fits me, and am really enjoying the journey.

In any case, I would love to meet some other kick-ass women who are into riding and bikes. I am in Denver if anyone is up for some slow, mellow, beginner rides.

Woot Woot! I'M HERE!

I know some of you even if you don't know me, or I've at least heard your names before! My name is Jennifer I'm 25 and my future husband is Dion (MRA #225), I'm a Pisces. I'm friends with Ashli (:hibye:)
Ive met Jenny a few times(:hibye:). Suki and Sully you have helped me out in the past even though you probably don't know it! I can explain! :)

Ok so I'm NOT officially a rider yet, about 2 summers ago Dion bought me a Yamaha FZR600, I liked it, learned how to start it, shift and ride around a parking lot. Then I tipped it over a few times in the parking lot and got scared, so we sold it! Well over the last few months I have really wanted to pick it up again, not so much to do any canyons or track but to have a few fun rides around town with Dion or some new girlfriends and to save some gas money riding to and from work.

I'm taking the MSF class ( GIRLS ONLY,so I'm hopefully not so intimidated) on April 14-15 so hopefully that goes really well and then we'll start looking for a bike for me after that. I want something small maybe an Aprillia 125 or Ninja 250 is what I'm thinking. I'm only 5'4 and want to try to be as flat footed as possible so I don't feel so uncomfortable on the bike!

Ok enough rambling, We need to start some new topics on this here girly section! I'll make it my personal goal to create some fun topics!:slappers: umm because I'm sort of a dork like that and work at a computer all day anyways!

I guess thats all for now! I'm really looking forward to actually meeting some of you and talking about random crap! :loop:

Good luck in MSF. It's easy peezy. I got a 100% on the written and only failed the stupid god damned blasted stupid, figure eight nonsense in box the size of my smallest bathroom - and I would have passed that too if the toilet wasn't in the way. The rest is easy. I am also 5'4 and 115lbs so I wanted a smaller lighter bike to begin with. I have a Ninja 250 and so does BAT who you may see post from time to time. It's a nice, light, low to the ground bike - Ha - Kinda like me...low to the ground. Super easy to ride - like a bicycle is easy. You'll love it.
Looking forward to seeing you out and about after your licensed and all that good shit.

no fucking way! when was this? when i went to get mine (8/04) there was this older lady, very shakey hands, and she BROUGHT this cadillac sized scooter that she wanted to learn on. she dumped that thing like 3 times or more, couldn't do ANY of the lessons, and ended up dumping her bike the last day during the riding test and left. her husband had a cruiser or a scooter, cant remember exactly which, but wanted her to learn on a scooter so she could go on little rides with him around town!

if it's the same lady, she should not be allowed to drive or ride anything.... EVER!

Yes, you will do fine. Ok, so this is the aged girlie talkin', but seriously, I mean it. I took the class almost 2 years ago (when I was 40...shhhh) and never had a second on a motorized 2-wheeled vehicle before taking the class. I nailed the figure 8 the first time out, but dumped it the next time and put my foot down each and every other pass and on the test (psyched myself out)...gah! But, I PASSED!!! Your determination has to be stronger than your worry and you seem to have determination.

Hey ladies --

I'm new around here. I don't have a bike...yet. I'm planning on buying one at the end of May or very beginning of June. I'm going to take the MSF basic skills course in May.

I'm a college student from Western State (we're a rare breed....) and am moving to Westminster in May. I visit every weekend, but in May I'll actually move into a house and change all my addresses and become an official Colorado resident. So, I'll be looking for riding buddies and buddies in general. lol.

I'm into random things like playing rugby and riding horses... I'm into trying pretty much anything and will probably do a ton of hiking & climbing this summer. -- I look forward to getting to know everyone! From what I can tell, CSC is a great resource full of fabulous people!

lol, you guys are a riot. -- I look forward to meeting everyone. I could use a few girl friends around the area.

I lived in the Thornton area for a year before going to college in SW Colorado...so I'm not really new to the area -- just new this time around, lol. It's amazing what happened to my friend base over 4 years... And this time I'm an adult (allegedly) and have to get a real job and pay my own bills. Blugh. I think I liked living here as a teenager much better :)

BTW-- I turn 21 next month and might be looking for some girls to party with... :siesta: --
