I have read thread after thread after thread of people talking about the Danmoto exhaust. One thing I noticed is that people either HATED them or LOVED them... but hardly anyone actually HAD one. I figured for under $100 why the hell not just try it out. I figured if it went to hell I could use it to make my own (what I was going to do anyway). So I ordered one for the wife's bike.

So I ordered the GP style exhaust HERE (http://www.dan-moto.com/er6-versys-650-ninja-650-all-years-conical-gp-product-412.html?zenid=920pm3iba1dsnjgd8s15ju6ob5) . came out a little over $100 shipped... WHAT!?! thats right.... an exhaust for $100!!! I know right?!

First Impression:

Shipped VERY fast considering it was coming from across the ocean. Arrived in about 6 days. Packaging was great. There was about 10lbs of bubble wrap around everything. Came with everything you need to install. All springs, bolts, brackets, and midpipe. The welds are nice and clean and well penetrating. Stainless core although I don't know if it is packed with fiberglass or steelwool so I don't know if it will need repacking, but for the price if it ever does i'll just buy another one.

Instal:

The instal was very straight forward. The midpipe fits very tight on the muffler so a little tap with a rubber mallet was required. After pulling the springs on it is apparent this thing isn't going ANYWERE , Very solid. Midpipe then slipped onto the header pipes like a glove. The hanging bracket you can tell is generic so use your head when installing. I used the small rectangle piece on the rear stock exhaust mounting hole on the bike and then bolted the hanger to that. You can rotate and adjust so that it isn't too close to the swingarm OR more important, your foot.

Sound/Performance:

This thing is... LOUD! Sounds very deep and throaty. Probably the deepest exhaust i've ever heard for this bike. Now, after saying that, it is the perfect tone to rattle windows and hum at a constant RPM. So I made a removable exaust baffle/DB killer (you can buy this from Danmoto and I wish I did so I didn't have to make it . HERE (http://www.dan-moto.com/removeable-baffle-product-298.html?zenid=920pm3iba1dsnjgd8s15ju6ob5) ). This made it perfect. Nice low tone but toned it down for everyday use. very freeflowing so great power and feel (mostly just because its louder). The main thing you will notice is the significant weight loss over the stock "car muffler" under there.

Final thoughts:

I'm glad I decided to try it out. I am VERY please with the looks, quality, and sound. I'm glad someone finaly stepped up and decided to sell exhausts for what they cost to make without the rediculous price mark up. It is what it is... enjoy it.

not bad...it will be interesting to see how well it holds up. the hardware looks a bit cheesy, but for the price, its not bad at all.

Oh by the way... I was thinking the strap looked kind of stupid with the holes in it... Apparently I installed it backwards. I flipped it arround and the other side was smooth.
