Lets make a video..Not a porn!! 8/27/11 and 8/28/11

So this saturday and sunday i want to do something a little different. I always have my gopro on all of my runs but its always mounted on the front and thats the only angle i get.

Hopefully before this saturday im going to have a second gopro and i will have my little high def camcorder and i want to make a video of the different angles and shots of canyon carving. first person, gopro on the back of the bike with someone behind, shots up people coming up the roads, passing by while in a lean, so on so forth.

If anyone here would like to help or wants to be in the video i encourage it! basically what i want to do is we will discuss where to ride on the forum lookout mountain is a must because of being able to look down the mountain at the road and get shots of people riding up! as well as other spots like bear creek and what not.

This run will not be a constant run there will be alot of stopping and setting up then having whomever is going to be in the shot go down then come back to get the shot.

Madvlad has already agreed to help me out with this so ive got one person .

We will have to start a little early (to avoid cagers since we will be stopping and to get un-interrupted shots)

if your interested let me know you need to be able to at least keep a good pace and be able to handle your bike in the canyons so we can get some cool shots (no hauling ass) just a pace.

both Saturday and Sunday damir and I are going to start with a meet at moco 0600 KSU 0615 to get some early am shots on bear creek and parmalee gulch then we will go back to moco to pick up the late risers and we can do the run to highway 7 since that's what everyone says is the better place for shots. this first post will be continually edited as far as which runs we are going to do on which days.

Yeah, or parts of Squaw where there are pull-offs and the like to setup in. Possibly St. Vrain too, or anywhere other than Lookout...

Fwiw, I think Lookout will be way too crowded and if you keep buzzing up and down the same area, someone's bound to call the LEOs to see what's up and it probably won't be fun...

sooo lookout is not an option that's ok who knows of a good spot where I can ride to a point if I go to the edge and look down you can see the twisties coming up? I think there's a good spot on mt Evans but not sure I f the road is in good enough shape to get smooth shots.

nice so the question is what is hwy 7 like during the day as far as traffic goes? we could do a run through central city intl raceway ( for some really cool shots) blast through 119 through nederland i know theres one good spot on 119 that has some twisties crammed in back to back then p2p to 7!

looks like i will prob be doing this run saturday and sunday, saturday i will be riding 2up so wont be going too quick and i want to get some footage riding 2 up cause i learned on the deckers run i can handle the bike pretty well with the wife on the back. sunday will i will be solo so we can keep a quicker pace.

So, if that IS true, then I'll probably ride that to see if it actually works or not while the RO is still open...and, since it's an intermittent problem, I won't know unless/until it does it.

All that means is that I probably won't be on the scoot if the bike is rideable...

Besides, I'd have to leave here at like 6am to get all the way out there in time, and we know how much I love early mornings... ;)

I used to work at cartoys. So I had the guys build me a mount out of abs plastic that I can strap my phone to and use that it comes just over the windscreen so I can still keep an eye on my phone.

We werent going too fast this morning, had to set at certain spots and what not to turn on cameras, get standing footage etc. only time I got moving a bit is when the other person recording was on the side of the road with the handheld camera

Yeah, no surprise, just depressing/irritating/angering-up-the-blood kinda typical shit...two weekends in a row, plus all the days in between and all the days since 8/18 when it went back in...so roughly 1/2 of August...


The Scoot has an immobilizer and alarm from the factory, so it eats whatever shitty Chinese batteries are in it like candy. It's on the deep cycle charger, so 50/50 it might survive...

I had the same prob on the 1000 ended up us doing a small plate bar with large hose clamp on the muffler

about what time I was on 119 around 10 am then again around 1230 there weren't any cops sitting but I passed about 5 sheriffs going the other way!

Holy hell am I spent! LOL! What a great ride! Rain could have held off but was still a great ride! That last road we took back was a blast! Very technical with lots of tight hairpins! Sorry I didnt keep up! I got a nasty cramp in my left leg as soon as we started picking up the pace and I couldn't concentrate enough on the road to go very quickly. Need to go hit up that road in the morning sometime when I can focus more!

BTW I was on the yellow GSXR 1K with the flat black Shoei with the clear visor. Thanks for shooting some on everyones bike! Hopefully the footage turns out well! Looking forward to the vids!

I dont know what it was.... but the speed I was going and something about that corner just didnt feel right.... glad the other side of the road was nice and clear so I could bail out and drop speed. Kinda weirded me out.... never had that feeling before.

Problem was I wasnt going in too hot.... Ive hit that turn many times much faster. Thinking back on it though.... I think the difference was I normally come into that turn at a constant high speed. Where as that time I was accelerating up to that speed entering the turn.... guess it was just a new combination that felt... odd. Ill have to practice that move on some big sweepers like that soon.

I've gotten lucky just like that and gone into the empty other lane. Was coming into a tight hairpin checked my mirror to see where my buddy was behind me and by the time I looked up I had botched the turn entry point and "felt" like I was going too fast when I could have easily made the turn. Grabbed the brakes and the bike stood up and went into the oncoming lane. Spooked me pretty bad, but also learned me not to check mirrors and to just lean into the turn if I think I'm goin to hot because the bike has way more grip than I'm used to using! That is kind of a mind bomb when it happens though. Glad no one was coming the other way!! It was fun following you for the short time I could keep up though! It's nice following faster people cause it shows me better lines and entry/exit speeds that are appropriate for each turn!
