I had two different Basset Hounds as a kid. This totally brought back so many happy/funny memories!
I just wish they didn't have so many health problems. Both of mine died fairly young (8 & 9 yrs) and I've been resistant to even consider another. From what I understand, they have a ton of genetic flaws because the breed was created from a pretty shallow gene pool. They're so great with kids though.... sigh.
