Finally gets his shot at UFC gold with his unification fight against GSP, and the idiot fails to go to two pressers. Dana White pulls his card, and replaces him with Carlos Condit.

Bad news for MMA fans, but good news for MMA fans. Carlos Condit is very dangerous and been on a bit of a tear here lately. I'm going to go ahead and say that I hope he beats Georges. Probably a long shot, but it would be cool as hell, if he did!

Yup, sad day for Diaz fans; I've always liked Diaz but the guy is 28 years old now and needs to grow up. He doesn't like press conferences, but I think we all have to do things for our jobs that we don't like and he was getting paid 5-10k just to show up at those. Sucks because I really think of anyone he had a good shot against GSP, plus was nice just to see him back in the UFC. As a fan I am dissapointed in his actions.

Cesar Gracie, his trainer, is also very upset http://www.fightofthenight.com/news/sickened-cesar-gracie-brands-nick-diaz-an-immature-child/

Man same week that Diego Sanchez had to pull out of his fight for a broken hand here at the Pepsi center this month.

Honestly I wanted to see Diaz be GSPs little bitch. Not a huge GSP fan (I respect him) but I can't stand Diazs bullshit an utter disrespect for the sport.

Oh and I saw that about Sanchez today. Sucks, I was looking forward to that fight!

Beat GSP? :spit: He is the champion of Strikeforce and hasn't lost since 2008; ten fight winning streak. He really would have given GSP some comp....

Diaz is obviously talented, and went much farther than anyone thought he ever could before everyone started jumping on his bandwagon.

However, I don't think with the current and recent GSP, Diaz 4 out of 5 times wouldn't stand a chance against GSP.

oops, probably cost him a lot...

Not really sure what that video was about, he certainly didn't seem to address why he wasn't at the press conf's, nor his manager's comments that he was there and just disappeared out the back door...

Diaz just confirmed he is a jackass! $20 says he shoots himself once he realizes what he has done...

Hughes v. Koscheck?Yup, Koscheck is the replacement for Diego. Should still be a good fight, although I would have prefered Diego since he is one of my favorite fighters and resides from my home town of Albuquerque NM.

Hopefully Penn gets his endurance/cardio up... if so, I think he will destroy Diaz. And further prove he never should have been matched up with GSP in the first place.

On a BJ GSP side note, did anyone ever hear of anything coming out of the GSP Vaseline incident?

This is Diazs statement about it all. In his own words from B.J. Penns Facebook/website. Im a little back and forth with it but he brings up some good points...

^^^Agreed. Without knowing the behind-the-scenes of the UFC fight game there's always more than what we see/hear about. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if the fight got changed because someone could make more money on the GSP vs Condit fight (by someone I mean investors/bookmakers).

I thought Nick came off a bit whiney, but that's just how I interpreted the interview.

I am good friends with the brother of Bendan Shaub and he states there is no way that fighters are not aware that this was a press conferance and not a video shoot as he stated. Fighters get emails and calls explaining what they need to do. Either way he should have shown up and done his job no matter what it was. I am sure others fighters hate hate going, but hey it is part of the job. Nick just has this ego that makes him think he is above the rules and Dana White had to give him an example who the real boss is.

Blaming GSP for not sticking up for him is just stupid, especially when GSP is at the same conferance he probably doesn't want to be at either. Then stating GSP is just afraid to fight him is trying to derail the issue. GSP has been training to fight Diaz, so I doubt he wanted to fight Carlos more. Plus like GSP said, it really is not a "championship" attitude. people can say it is all about fighting, but with the bad press MMA has received in the past, it is nice to have a respectful/mature champ to respresent this is a actual sport.

P.S. And this is coming from a big Nick Diaz fan; guy just needs to grow up!

I actually think Diaz vs GSP would have brought in a a bigger crowd viewing because it was one champ (Strikeforce) vs UFC champ. Plus Diaz is more popular than Conduit, so if anything I bet they lost money with this (actually heard UFC was issuing refunds for the first time). My opinion is Dana White is just sick of Diaz's crap; I mean he was kicked out of UFC for failing multiple drug tests (marijuana) and then he got this shot to come back and messed it up.

Agreed, I was just making a point that it's really tough for the general public to know what's going on behind the scenes. Who knows what's really going down?

With that said, my belief is that Dana is the boss and if you don't like it, he's happy to show you the door. He's basically holding all the cards and there is a really long list of hungry fighters willing to take your place if you don't want to play by his rules. I don't mean that to come off bad against Dana, in my opinion the rules/commitments are pretty basic and you'd really have to work hard at getting booted from a fight...

Yeah and especially since UFC (Zuffa) has bought out all the major competitions and not left fighters many others places to go. Dream, Belator, and BAMMA are about the only ones left and not many people are even familiar with them. Zuffas has created a MMA monopoloy and kind of sucks; especially for fighters.
