You ain't going anywhere if you're eastbound on 70 from West Denver.

Didn't see much, but the sheer number of emergency vehicles was astounding. I think I passed some traffic control trucks heading to the scene at about 6am and I interpreted that to mean they're shutting it down till the investigation and cleanup is done.

I'm a little curious about what happened so if you see any news reports, post 'em up, hey?

They said that motorcycles were sliding on the chemicals that covered the road.

NB I-25 was closed last night because of a motorcycle crash ~6th Ave as well, looked like a total cluster as we were going the opposite direction.

More details from this morning's interstate craziness: http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_19029005

The article says a 4th motorcycle went down because of the same slicks on I-76. They're still looking for the truck that dumped/leaked that stuff.

Anyone want to wager that it was 10 vehicles plus motorcycles and not just motorcycles because someone was following too closely?

The report said the motorcycles went down first and then the pile up began because the cars were trying to avoid hitting the motorcycles.

I think on a highway covered in oil/whatever that was, "following too closely" was probably irrelevant. I'm guessing nobody had time to plan ahead for what was coming.

I guess that gives a new meaning to the term "Slick as shit".
