Maybe they didn't relocate the one from Boulder properly?

Hopefully they don't shoot them. Take away it's natural habitat piece by piece and it's gonna happen.

I saw a very young lion down here, and my house is not that close to the mountains. However, my neighborhood is surrounded by a bit of rural, high prairie.

It sprang across my neighborhood street Sep 12 and darted into some scrub oak as I was driving on my way to work. My first thought was, "Holy crap, that is a huge, muscular housecat!" My second thought was, "Bobcat!" due to its size and markings. But that quickly gave way to my final thought, "No, its tail was way too long... OMG, MOUNTAIN LION."

Looked very much like this guy:

+1. It's not their fault we've crowded into their habitat...not that that ever matters...

They tranq'd the one in Boulder apparently, so I doubt they'd shoot it. Unless some NRA junkie lives around 66th and Independence.

That's about 2 miles from my house. Where's my gun? I mean, camera? :D

Well, I hope they do the same this time. I first saw one at a great distance while hiking as a kid, and then a former park ranger friend of the family had one he'd bring to schools to teach kids about them. I really hope these three are tranq'd and relocated.

They start off like this:

And grow into this. This one was hit by a car and still alive (but unable to move). Animal control responded and put the animal down. The guy who just happened to be a taxidermist asked "Hey, can I keep it?".

Never could understand why anyone would want to hunt a predatory animal.

Here's a cool pic taken by a wildlife camera out here in AZ

To prove you're somehow more of a predator than they are when you hide 200m out with your scoped 30-06 and take them completely unaware...

Anyway, close encounter in Boulder:

I dunno man. I have no desire to become cougar scat. I will keep an eye out.

Funny the comments about taking habitat away and all that while true, if you happen to see one putting the stalk on a kid, or a person out jogging or walking, your attitude tends to change a little bit, as least mine surely has.

Time to load the 870 with #4 buckshot.
