I bet that thing hauls ass! They didn't really have to many details in the specs area, but I'm guessing it would be a really nice sport touring bike.

Why does every manufacturer feel the need to mount whale dicks for exhausts? Seriously? Those things are obnoxiously huge. You can't tell me that there is a true need for something like that? Someone needs to question the aesthetic taste of the exhaust designers.

A little side by side comparison...

So they went from George Foreman Grill side plates to Freddy Krueger Glove side plates...

Got it, thanx!

Just looks like the body work got a face lift and the motor got a slight bump in displacement... So much for seeing "A Totally New Bike" for 2012

Seems the economy has everyone playing it safe and not doing anything NEW for their "new" bikes...

Yep, that ZX-10 they released a couple of years ago wasn't fast at all

Which is why Busas and ZX-14s are losing relevance for most people...

I don't know... i thought my 'o9 zx6r looked pretty alright. Then again i purchased it for it's performance ratings not it's esthetics.

Depends on where you are. Here they are a hell of a lot less relevant than they are in places like Florida where you've got long, flat, straight roads.

Not to say that one of these bikes doesn't go around corners plenty fast.

I was unimpressed with the launch. I was hoping for supercharger that I'd be able to shoehorn onto my bike.:p But alas, it's simply an "update" and not a new bike. Looks like a decent St platform though. I'd ride it.

To each its own, some will hate it some will love it. I rode the ZX6-r and not impressed looks or performance but I can't knock on the ZX10 as you guys rip these at the track full on so you have a bettter idea. Looks wise is hideous in my book

It's all in the eye of the beholder. I like the look of my bike, but most people don't/won't. As far as the ZX, it's better looking than the first one, imo.

25lb weight increase! I wonder if its all inthe exhaust?-its got all new wheels that are lighter- I wouldnt mine having one--- not as my only ride though--headlights look better imho--- the testarosa grills look better than the foreman grill--- tail looks the same--- non braced swing arm looks out of the 90s--
-wonder if suzuki will do anything at all this year---

A lot of hate in this thread. The 2012 ZX-14 looks a ton better than my '06. I would take one any day over my bike as it sits now. Well, of course I would have to drop and extend it. I love the new green as it isn't as bright and cartoonish.

Most of all I like the additional displacement.

I think a green wheel in the front and black one in the back would look nice too.

It's very easy to say that before you ride it. Once you get on one and put some miles on it, you might just like it. The biggest difference is the stability you have in the wind and at high speeds and it's comfortable to ride long distances and around town. I would be hard pressed to buy a smaller bike as most of my riding is done running errands around town. Also, mine is lowered and extended so the ride isn't even close to as nice as stock ride height and length.

+1 for what is mentioned above also, never a sore ass coming home, was very comfortable and extremely stable through wind with my busa

Also, these bikes are more than capable of keeping up in the twisties with everyone else on their 600's and 1000's.

Everybody has something they like. The Kawis, like most of the Japanese machines, are rock solid durable, long lasting, well engineered machines. I'll bet it is a lot of fun in its own right.

well speak for yourself on that one-- i always find the lack of ground clearance a problem once the pace gets wicked up--- also the stock suspension is very soft-- --very fixable stuff-- but then u give up on the comfort---the weight is the biggest issue-- slinging 700+lbs of bike and passenger around can be tiring---its like having the hulk for a dance partner... IMHO they should've stuffed the 1400 engine in the 10r chasis- taller bars and lower pegs( adjusteable) and called it a day -- but hey just hanging out with the hulk could be fun!

I like my hulk, she goes by large Marge :p And yeah, my bike, at 677lbs without rider is a bit of a chore in tighter corners, but she's quite stable at higher speed. I only drag peg once in a while, but moving around on the seat would help that some. The cost/benefit isn't there for me though, as the new ZX costs almost as much as the C14.

On a big bike like a 14, I think the bigger exhausts look considerably better on them. The small Brock's aftermarket exhausts make the 14 look like an aircraft carrier with a chrome cheer leader-sized megaphone on the side:

^^ When I had my 14, The first thing I did was dump the enormous mufflers. I put on a set of M4 retros. Made it look much better, but loud as an aircraft carrier

Esssh, I don't even like the look of those after market pipes. It makes the front end look huge! If you wanted it to look really nice, you'd probably have to get a custom job. I think some sort of high-mount would look good.

BC14
Wed Oct 12th, 2011, 07:14 PM
I'd say a dual Muzzy's set up would look good. Smaller than stock, but still enough muffler to complement the bike. They make one for the connie that is nice, but a tad over my budget for exhaust.
