Most people don't see what's wrong with the non-word "irregardless." Moreover, most people probably think that a double negative is a math-based term for two minus signs side-by-side.

The biggest math-related weakness currently is a lack of understanding of diverging exponential functions. Plot one function that is growing at one rate on top of another one that is growing at a bigger rate. Now label the first "economic growth" and the second one "debt" and you'll get the idea.
