Thought it would be nice to have a Dirty South ride again to see some familiar faces and meet some new ones. So here we go:

Time: 9am; KSU (Kick-Stand Up) at 9.30am
Location: Gas station by South Academy and 115 (next to Safeway). I'll probably have a coffee at Black Bear beforehand. And no, I won't bring Starbucks in there.... .
Route: TBD - likely Westcliffe loop. Count on approx 150-200 miles.
Pace: The Pace (http://www.cosportbikeclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=40) . I am rather slow, so I usually sweep. Only requirement is that you do not override YOUR skill level.

And we will stop for lunch. See ya then.

This sounds fun, but we'll see. If I am not there by KSU, it means I am unable to go.

I am not sure if this is true anymore. You seem to drive faster since that last class you took. Or maybe it is the orange Aprila..?

I feel like I learned a lot at STAR and sure hope they will come back next year.

There is always room for improvement, and my goal is it to leave Scott and Bashed in the dust one day:twisted:.
Till then, I'll keep ridin' in the back.... .:D Oh, I also have new tires.

Thanks everyone. Good times. Nice to see some familiar faces and meet some new ones.
Sarah, thanks for coming out and having breakfast with us.

The leaves around Cripple Creek are mostly gone, but there were still some beautiful views in that area.

What a great day for a ride.
Us southies need to do this more often like previous years.
I still didn't get a pic of westcliff and front range. That view is awesome with the the snow covered peaks.

I am glad there is at least one gas station in Westcliffe. Otherwise I might be pushing my luck going from Florence to Bishop's to Westcliffe and then all the way up to Cripple Creek. But I do think one might be sufficient... . But Jon found another gas station by TX Creek somewhere, which is good to know because you can get easily lost in that area if you **cough cough** going too fast and not paying attention to road signs.

Anyways, another gas station pic, taken with my crappy cell phone:

And here are Jon's - Bishop's Castle. We came to find out this is Jim Bishop's 43rd (!!!) year of building. And yes, he built sthg new - go check it out (if not, you can find it in the lower left corner)!

And lunch in Westcliffe (Sangrita's) - thanks GuitarX for showing me this place earlier in the year!

Lovely pics!

GuitarX seems to be a walking UrbanSpoon. I'll have to check out Sangritas next time!

If you go to the end of town in Westcliffe, you will find areas with unobstructed views of the Sangres, along with some historic railroad stuff that may make for interesting pics. Also, Mntntoproc and I (along with Ninja2 once) will usually pull off at that curve just coming down the hill east of Silver Cliff. It has a wide shoulder, and the sweeping panorama is perfect for photos.

Pretty sure I saw you guys as I headed to Canyon City, right at the turnoff T, regrouping. I was on the black Fz1 riding with a couple baggers, if that rings a bell? Sucks I missed this thread, it was my bday and going for a ride was exactly what I had planned!

We went up through Guffey from Florissant, TONS of changing/unchanged aspens over in that area, if you guys didnt make it through that way. It was pretty sweet, for sure.

Always next time!

It was great to meet you all. Thanks for all the help with bike too. Turns out the rectifier went bad. Even with all that it was still a great ride. Hope to meet up with you all again.
