Alot of cryptic information on the new superbike. Anybody know anything about it? I'm contemplating trading in the RSV4 Factory for this in the Spring. So, I'm just seeing what people have heard or may know that I do not.

Should be a cool bike. They have a video in Italian ad ducati dot com on the engine, its development etc.

It's too much bike for me, but looks fantastic.

Now that's an exhaust that Erik Buell can be proud of...

Hmmm...I was hoping for great things from this bike but I have to say now that the cat's out of the bag, I'm not loving the styling especially the side views. I'm sure the performance and electronics, etc. etc. are out of this world but I think the Ducati boys failed on the styling a bit. Here are some better pics.

I love it! The exhaust is something different for a change (looks a bit like the Ninja 650), but for some people different means ugly. IMO; I like a superbike that doesn't look cookie cutter.

I am going to respectfully disagree i think that bike looks like it wants to eat every other motorcycle on the road!

It's not the exhaust that I dislike. The tank has no style, the side fairings are pretty hideous. The headlights are cool (from the front anyway), no disagreement there. Hopefully, pictures aren't doing this bike justice and it will be much nicer in reality. As it stands, I'd way rather have a 1098/1198 (from a looks standpoint).

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually think the BMW is better looking and I don't like that bike's styling.

All said and done, I'm sure they will sell the crap out of them and it will probably grow on me at some point. The good thing is, my bikes and my bank account are safe. I'd much rather have an MV 1000RR or KTM RC8R. I think at some point (for a street bike), you have to say incremental performance improvements are really not going to be felt on the street. You have to make your choice based on looks because all the top bikes are fantastic. Of course, looks are completely subjective so whether or not anyone agrees with me makes no difference.

I hope Ducati does well with the bike. It's a brand I'd like to see continue to prosper. At some point I know they'll design something I can't live without.

I hit that point last year with my Multistrada :D

Oh, and I love the exhaust. The horizontal pipe looks a bit steampunk, but I'm tired on these ginormous nasty looking OEM pipes. Kudos to Ducati from taking some styling notes from the ninja 650 and Buells.

I REALLY like it. It's obvious that they took a LOT of lighting design cues from Audi, which is a good thing. I still wish it was a 60deg V4 (based on the Desmo's 90deg V4) instead of a V-twin, but........

It's a Ducati, it can look ugly and fanboys will still fork over the money to buy one. As long as it comes with matching jackets and helmets. They are the Harley of the euro bike world.

I like it. I hope they sell alot.

That said, I still like my 1198. The torque curve is much more forgiving, based on what I have seen so far on the almighty internet.

I was hoping it would be a V4, but, it's still damn sexay, as only Italians can make things. :)

Even if the clip is overly dramatic, the bike... sounds... AWESOME.

Love the red/white/green look! Like Dave said, too much bike for me. I wouldn't know what the hell to do with it. Although, maybe I'd be able to figure it out with a little effort?

Maybe I missed it, have they thrown out a ballpark cost?

LOOOOOVE the tricolore. But, hey, what red-sauce-blooded Eye-Talian doesn't? :)
