Posting Description:
The department of University Information Systems is recruiting for a Portal Developer. This position is expected to provide technical support in the area of portal and integrations application development using Java, PeopleSoft Enterprise Portal and Oracle technologies. It will also be responsible for the conversion of the faculty/staff portal from uPortal framework to Peoplesoft Enterprise portal framework. The position will also play a key role in the development of the new portal components using PeopleTools, Integration Tools, Enterprise Portal Administration, Java, middleware technologies like web services, BPEL and XML.

- Development of new portal student, faculty and staff components and improvement of existing components 50%
- Technical maintenance of the portal including testing of patches and upgrades. 20%
- Providing technical application support to system end users 30%
- Analysis of complex processes and potential technologies involved in implementing enhancement requests.

Required Education/Experience/Skills (Minimum Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education (professional experience may be substituted on a year for year basis for the educational requirement).
- At least two years of experience in web development (front and back end)
- 1 year of PeopleTools experience
- Strong analysis and design skills.
- Excellent communication skills including an ability to explain the thought process behind a solution

Desired qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer science
Knowledge of
- Java, Javascript, CSS
- Web Services
- XML including Xquery, XSLT
- Oracle databases and SQL

Required Education/Experience/Skills (Minimum Qualifications)

- Minimum 3 years of PeopleSoft experience to include PeopleCode development and PeopleTools installation, configuration and scale up, preferably in a large-scale implementation;

- Minimum 2 years of web development including experience with CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Java Servlets, AJAX;

- Minimum 1 year of experience with testing and/or automation tools like Selenium, Greasemonkey, iMacros, etc;

- Proficient in writing complex and efficient SQL queries;

- Strong analysis and design skills;

- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written;

- Must be able to not only devise a solution, but explain the process used to arrive at that solution at both a technical and business logic level.

Desired qualifications
