AK Photo Denver - The Future Home of...

With the help of a friend who is schooled in fix-n-flips, the renovation of the future home of AK Photo's physical studio space in Denver is underway. I will probably be looking to sublet and rent space to offset my costs, so if any photogs are looking for studio space to rent, let me know and I'll quote you preferred rates for CSCers (just please be patient - as I probably won't be able to set rates until after project completion). Regarding schedule - I'm hoping to have this completed around April 2012.

The space was previously owned by a photographer who had a bit of a fetish for shooting nudes. After his death, his estate sold the property and its contents. Here are some of his "props" that we discovered and sent to the trash bin.

Wall fully removed.
Floor radiator and associated piping drained and pulled.
In-wall electrical rerouted.

Next up - install roof beam, provide blocking at ceiling for my background rigging setup, and patch wood floor...

** UPDATE ** January 30, 2012
A lot has been done! Floor is patched, majority of walls and ceiling drywall is patched, ceiling track lighting is in, and all power has been distributed. Up next... final paint, floor sanding/finishing, some minor plumbing, and she's ready to roll!

Bathroom is DONE! Floor sanding and final painting next weekend - then time to start prepping the studio. Looks like my schedule of an April 2012 opening is still on track!!
