the first comment makes me wonder if you were aware that the track almost didn't happen. a bunch of screw ups and finger pointing nearly resulted in no track being built.

and, yeah, that pic is awesome.

if I could put WILL in all-caps, underline it, and italicize it in the title, I would. but, since I can't, just read it with the emphasis on that part.

Did you see what I did two posts before yours? Now, if you know how to apply html formatting in the title of a thread, by all means, please feel free to share.

The Texas Major Events fund was the state money that is involved, it is for large events like the Superbowl. My understanding was that it is a reimbursement after an economic impact analysis to verify that the event brought in more tax revenue than the reimbursement. That was how it had always worked for the other events the fund has been used for. I never thought it would be paid out before the event occurred, either someone thought differently or was given some bad information. I think the recent events had more to do with the money partners trying to push Tavo Hellmund out than it did anything else and some of the subsequent maneuvering that occurred.

The MotoGP and Australian V8 Supercars are still supposed to be on for 2013. There has been talks with GrandAm and ALMS about having racing races there.

I moved up here last month from Austin, if there is anything you need to know just ask. I will have a house on the market down there in a few weeks, it is about 15 miles from the track.
