I've seen a lot of people look at that stuff. Don't know anyone who's actually tried it.

I'm skeptical but you have nothing to lose but money. I can't help but think it's similar to using JB Weld in place of an actual weld.

You're right. Good guy, glad he turned out ok. I'm hoping this turns out and doesn't end up looking like road kill.

"he" is using a hot air plastic welding heat gun with ABS plastic rods from Harbor Freight.

The one "he" uses: http://www.harborfreight.com/plastic-welding-kit-with-adjustable-temperature-96464.html

another option if you don't have a compressor you want to listen to running all the time: http://www.harborfreight.com/plastic-welding-kit-with-air-motor-and-temperature-adjustment-96712.html

holding the parts securely is the challenge. Heating plastic to the melting point for a proper weld tends to make things tough to hold or support properly

He is trying to say that he is the one that you are referring to as "he". Took me a little to realize that he was him also.

That is directed at you original poster :P

I kinda thought the same screen name and the VFR in the signature was a dead give-away :)
