This guy did not think about the plane overhead. Guess he does not have much to lose looking at his mug shot.

Gear position switch eliminator... Doesn't let your bike think you're in 6th, so it doesn't govern it at the universal 300 kmh / 186 mph.

I'm not sure of the 188. If they were clocking from a plane simply using their airspeed indicator and "eyeballing" it, then they were probably at least 10mph off either way. If they were timing him using the painted stripes on the road for that reason, then it was pretty accurate.

Still too fast and stupid, especially in traffic. I hope the guy does his 2 years.

Hah! No, 188 would be within the realm of a mildly-modded Gixxer or 'Busa, I'm just questioning the accuracy of the speed measurement itself. If the pilot used the whit lines to time him, it's pretty accurate, if he used the airspeed indicator, or even air-to-ground radar, not so much.

For not actually injuring anyone? Really? 2yrs seems fair for that?

First time DUI in Colorado won't even get you that.

yeah i dont think he should do any time. just revoke his license for like 2 or 5 years. drug offenders get less than that and they are part of an equation full of violence and other crimes

A bone stock Hayabusa with the speed limiter removed (reflash or TRE) and stock gearing can see 194ish mph with the right rider in decent conditions. Minor mods (pipe/Power commander, lowering, mirrors removed, revised gearing) can see 202 or 203 actual mph on asphalt, somewhat less on the salt.

Yes.

Felony evading. Reckless driving. Endaangering other motorists. Hell yeah. The guy was a complete asshole with total disregard for anyone else's safety. At 188mph, the bike would almost cut a car in half, killing anyone inside. They need to make an example of this assclown.

Michael Murphy, Foldenauer's lawyer, says that the motorcyclist whom the Iowa State Patrol tracked that day was not Foldenauer.

"His motorcycle was an orange motorcycle, kind of a bright orange. Everybody identified a red motorcycle, so that was our problem we had," Murphy said. The Pottawattamie County jury didn't buy it.

Of course. He was going so fast the red shift made it look red.:lol:

That, is a ridiculous statement. So? Felony evading does NOT depend on injury, it only depends on evading. Same with reckless driving, and endangerment. Does the absurd liberalism espoused here mean that everyone lives in a feel-good world where people break laws and it's ok just because THIS TIME nobody got killed? I mean, seriously???

I he had hurt or killed someone, would that make you feel better? I can't believe people here would justify his behavoir.........

2 years is potentially a stiffer penalty than manslaughter.

So, it actually would have been better if he'd just killed some innocent bystander while doing the speed limit.

Justice.

;) IMO his attorney sucked trying to use a defense like this. He needed an attorney that should have concentrated on reducing his stuff instead.

He didn't hurt anyone, buy him an ice cream cone and give him some sprinkles. He does cut a car in half and hang him from the gallows(even though he’s probable already very dead and in small Ziploc bags at that point). Somewhere in the middle would be justice. It was INCREDIBLY reckless and dangerous and he should at least lose his license, and serve some community service.

Sentance him to 2 years, put him on a chain gang to clean up the highways for 1, call it done.

But, people would be singing for 5 IF he had killed someone......which doesn't bring back the victim(s). The threat of punishment must be harsh enough to STOP people from doing this stupid shit in the first place, and a slap on the wrist ain't it. I'd still have no issue with him doing 2 years.

No one on here ever speeds, if they did then they could potentially kill millions of people, so they'd all be arrested before getting on the bike.

I've never exceeded the posted speed limit (in the derestricted section of the Autobahn) on public roads...
