My Trip To Cali

Decided friday afternoon that I would ride to San Fran to see a douchewaffle I've known for a couple years.

Set out Saturday morning about 3:30AM. Desert gets crazy cold at night :lol:

I took the 10 outta Phoenix to the 5 to get out there. That was incredibly boring so I rode the PCH back. Went from Concord to San Mateo and started on down the coast.

I think that's it. Stopped in Monterey to see Cannery Row, but it was so packed with tourists I didn't get off the bike. Spent a night in San Luis Obispo. Love that place. Had a good meal, a cheap bed and hit the road early AM. All in all I put 1800 miles on the bike this weekend. My ass is killin me. :lol:

I do pretty well. It's how often you take a break that counts. Certainly not as comfy as my C14, but not bad.

And great pics :up: looks like some of the roads I hit last summer, very cool.

That trip made me realize how much I love distance riding. I'm thinking an FJR might be in my future.

Personally speaking, nothing beats an ST bike for distance and having fun while you're at it.

Haha, good luck finding one for sale! I came to this realization last summer too after a few long distance trips (I also love LD riding but I've always loved to travel).

I've been checking the state wide craigslist on a regular basis for months and the only ones I've seen are those sold by dealers. In the middle of summer there were a handful of private sales though for around $8000 for a GEN II.

Yeah, Dub and his woman even came and partied at our house during the Infineon AMA round. Dude moved to the far east bay though so we don't get to hang out much. Hit me up next time you are out for sure!
