design enthusiast, paul elkins (http://www.highmileagetrikes.blogspot.com/), develops mobile units, and other small scale vehicles.
he previously designed the burning man bicycle camper (http://www.designboom.com/weblog/weblog/cat/23/view/7493/burning-man-bicycle-camper.html) and his latest development
is a mobile homeless shelter which he designed as part of a competition asking individuals
to meet the demands of the rapidly growing homeless society - a kind of substitute for the
grocery cart situation. elkins wanted his design construction to be a simple, light weight,
water tight insulated box on wheels, built with an area for displaying and selling handmade wares.

Perfect mobile meth factory, too. Shake and bake to your heart's content, and if people start to notice just pitch it into the river and walk away.

KATMANDU, Nepal - He has never worked outside the home or seen a doctor, and until Wednesday, he had never left his remote mountain village in western Nepal (http://www.newsday.com/topics/Nepal). So 72-year-old Chandra Bahadur Dangi only recently learned he might be the world's shortest man.
Dangi says he's only 22 inches (56 centimeters) tall — about the size of a toddler — and he's hoping to claim the title. Guinness World Records (http://www.newsday.com/topics/Guinness_World_Records) said in an email Wednesday that its officials would arrive in Nepal (http://www.newsday.com/topics/Nepal)'s capital Sunday to measure Dangi.
Dangi took his first trip outside his village and his first trip on a plane to reach Katmandu on Wednesday.
"I am very happy to be in Katmandu for the first time in my life. I am here so I can take the Guinness title," Dangi told reporters at the airport.
Dangi, who has never been married, lives with his eldest brother and his family in Rhimkholi village, about 250 miles (400 kilometers) west of Katmandu. Because of his height, he has never worked outside the house, doing only household chores. His five brothers are of average size.
His family is not sure when he stopped growing, and Dangi said he has never been checked by a medical doctor. He attended a few classes in the village school, but soon dropped out.
Dangi eats mainly rice and vegetables, and occasionally meat, but in small portions.
Since the village is so remote, it was only recently that Dangi gained notice. A forest contractor cutting timber in the village met him and informed local media after Dangi's height was measured

Wow, how innovative! Instead of society working to get the homeless off the streets, let's build and sell them a better box to live in. This is ridiculous on so many levels. If this is the best solution a person can come up then it might as well be a coffin.

Somehow i see this being a really bad idea. If those things are all over it will be the new age "cow tipping" kids will be running around tipping homeless people shacks.

The idea makes me though.

This work good for prostitution, just go in with the gal and then your in her home and can make the deal. Cop comes knocking, "you got a search warranty for my home"...LOL I wonder if it can be setup for Sat TV and AC for those hot summers!!!

I saw a show where a guy was living down under some train track area. He had it painted up, had TV, radio, a sleeping area. Has been living there for like 10-15 years...LOL Also how in the flood tunnels of Vegas people have homes setup underground. Pretty amazing really.
