If I can get tires by Saturday, I'm in for Sunday. I think performance has what I'm looking for, so I'll most likely register tomorrow.

Arg!! I still don't have a trailer and light harness for my car. I might be able to make it if someone from the Springs has space for a Ninja 250 and some gear.

Or, I could just rent a truck? I have a lift at work to load the bike, but I would need help unloading and loading at the track.

oh10raven
Wed Mar 14th, 2012, 02:05 PM
I can't help with transportation, but I'd help you unload/load at the track and I’m sure they'll be others to assist as well.

Do we know how many people have singed up at this point?

oh10raven
Wed Mar 14th, 2012, 03:01 PM
We have to be close or over with CSC people alone. There's gotta be others outside of CSC who have signed up also. I can't wait for my first track day. I'll try not to hold everyone up while I park it in the corners.

Contact "RYBO" he might have some leathers you can borrow. I'm sure he will help you.

is there a place where I can rent leathers ?

Most of the leathers I had for loaners were stolen with my trailer last season.

I have two sets left - so depending on what size you need I might be able to help you out.

I'm planning on being there - PM me and let me know what size you need. If you don't know the size send me height and weight - I can get you close.

I talked to Glenn tonight and he said that as of yesterday afternoon we had 7 confirmed. I'm sure that we'll make it on headcount. Plan on it happening!

We are going to be there, but only 1 riding. I can ask him to bring his extra set of leathers too. I think they are size 44 or something (its technically not my job to keep track :P)

Hopefully the wind won't be too nasty out there. I hear it's supposed to be pretty bad along the foothills. I'm shooting for the following Saturday (24th). The weather looks like it's gonna be really nice (69 and sunny). Anyone else? I failed all last year to get out to HPR so this will be my first run out there.

Shit, I may have to miss this. Just found a leaky banjo bolt at my front brake master cylinder. Not sure if I'll be able to fix it in time. Going to ask for some assistance over in the bike tech area.

A vendor for..??

I decided to go ride and burn up some rubber I won't be needing anymore. :)

Anyway, I can help support on some tire/geometry issues but won't be bringing out any equipment to change tires.

Let me know if you have a question I didn't answer.

Lol, I got to the track and still had a slight leak. Tightened the banjo and snapped it off. Turned around and went home. Lame.

Good meet you sag, sucks the bike was giving you a hard time.

Today was so fun and a huge eye opener. Anyone thinking about doing a track day, definitely go for it. You'll learn so much more about how to really ride your bike, meet a bunch of cool people and not have to worry about LEO's. It was a great time, I'm beat but can't wait for the next one.

Yea great day great people the wind got a little ridiculouse but I learned so much in one day, I definately need to get out there as much as possible this summer.

Short vid of me following Scer for a few laps.
http://youtu.be/vZpD4HlTjEI

On the back straight the camera should be level but you can see how far we were leaning into the cross wind by the angle of the horizon.
I packed it in when the wind pushed my front a little in the high speed sweeper exiting 7 in a full lean, that was enough of that crap

Sweet - that's exactly how I remember it!

Nice riding to both of you!

Tue Mar 20th, 2012, 10:02 AM
Thanks for posting the vid dude. yeah it was pretty crazy out there. A learning experience for sure. Pretty different feeling when you are leaning in turn 2-3 and the wind decides you need to drag knee when you really didn't mean to.

PS I am still pissed about my mis-shift in 6-7. lol

piss on pissas

Bueller
Tue Mar 20th, 2012, 12:37 PM
In my recollection the wind is usually more out of the west and results in more of a headwind than the crosswind coming down the back straight we had Sunday, that was pretty wild sometimes. My favorite part was transitioning from leaning left against the wind down the straight to the right as you set up for T4, at those speeds with the assistance of the gusts it caught me by surprise a few times.

ian22
Tue Mar 20th, 2012, 02:38 PM
Bueller, what are you riding in the video? Seems a bit faster than a ninja250.

Bueller
Tue Mar 20th, 2012, 03:07 PM
I am on a SV650 now, just a bit quicker
My warmup laps on my first session were the same as my best times last year on the 250. :)

Had to kind of go easy due to wrist surgery in January. Hoping to get some more speed this season.

ian22
Tue Mar 20th, 2012, 03:12 PM
I have no doubt that you'll be fast on the SV, must feel lots different. Does it turn in slower?

Bueller
Tue Mar 20th, 2012, 03:22 PM
Not too much, it has better suspension so it's improved handling makes up for the heavier bike and it is still a fairly light bike. Now I am just trying to maintain the 250 riding philosophy of high corner speeds and less braking.

ian22
Tue Mar 20th, 2012, 03:23 PM
Good luck with that, I'm too much of a pansy to keep up with you. I'm sure I'll see you out at HPR soon. Planning to be out there this saturday.
